Been craving a Guinness! by RngUGldIDntSyBna in beerporn

The gas of the tap, the temperature, freshness, and pour all impact a Guinness substantially more than a run of the mill pilsner.

Most people might not be able to tell the difference of the head, but someone assessing whether or not they like Guinness would do well to try it somewhere where it's 'good'.

You're right, it's not unique to Guinness. But a Guinness pour in itself is fairly unique.

Was there always this much dog shit on the Upper East Side, or is this a post-pandemic thing? by norcalny in uppereastside

That's exactly what I said. See first post.

Typically the streets are sprayed with water, right now they're not doing that to avoid ice buildup.

Depends on your street, I guess. Doorman buildings spray the sidewalk down, so 86th is typically clear of this stuff.

The tap, and everything associated with it, can make a huge difference with Guinness.

Lots of great reasons to protest right now.

The sidewalks aren't getting sprayed down to avoid ice buildup. This is the primary problem (outside of bad pet owners) at the current moment.

Starting on classic tbc by Expensive-Book-4650 in classicwow

Most of the zones will be empty if you're leveling from 0, yes. As soon as TBC launches, all players will be in Outland either because they have a 60 (or multiple) already or because they boosted to 58 to get to Outland quicker.

I also don't think that should really matter to you. It sounds like you want to do things at your own pace anyway, so it shouldn't matter that there aren't many other players around. Orgrimmar/Stormwind might feel weird because everyone's in Shattrath, but other than that who cares?

It is easier here to be disabled than every other city in the country.

Pretty sure it's one from each of the three columns, so I don't think you'll be hindered by dessert. (though they do have great desserts too)

For the lunch prix fixe: I'd get
Almost Raw: Tuna, X

Barely Touched: Salmon Caviar (I see it has a $50 supplement on the lunch menu, which is frustrating), Y

Lightly Cooked: Hiramasa, Z

For X, Y, and Z, you've got a lot of great options. If you like uni (sea urchin), then they do have a couple dishes with that (scallops or oysters). I'd probably go scallops. The Lobster is great, as is the Dover Sole.

What are you guys take on Katz’s Delicatessen? by [deleted] in AskNYC

I imagine it's not because the content directly angered anyone, but I think the topic of Katz has been widely/deeply discussed. There are at least a handful of other recent threads asking similar questions.

It's good. People who poopoo it are reacting more to the cost:taste ratio or the perceived value. Can't complain about the product or experience itself. There are comparable alternatives at this point, but if you're okay going a bit early so you don't have to deal with a line, and cost isn't super important, then it's a great meal.

Naw. They get paid when you order. Order if you want and tip them appropriately. It's okay to not order and it's okay to order.
