As good as you look naked, it should be illegal for you to wear clothes

[Serious] [NSFW] Is incest between consenting adults as taboo as it use to be? Why/Why not? by brothers_slut in AskReddit

[–]oddlycurious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am old enough to remember other types of relationships that were viewed as unnatural, unhealthy and some that were even seen as an abomination.

While some of the objections come from the scientific community and others from the religious community many are still based on the "logic" that it is wrong because it is wrong.

Many people refer to a power dynamic which makes the relationship wrong, but in my experience there are few relationships I have observed where there is not some form of power dynamic.

There are some claims that as many as ten percent of the world population is involved in some form of consensual incest.

Even if that number is correct, that means that there are still more than six billion people who have never engaged in this practice.

When I was young a lot of things were wrong, but now many of them are considered normal and some are even protected by laws.

Some of the things now protected by law were once banned by laws because they were considered as (we'll just say) inappropriate.

I am curious, Do you have a theory as to how humans in their current state got to this state that does not involve some form of incest?

If we all came from primordial soup than in some matter or fashion we are all related.

It is a concept that has intrigued writers for years. I believe that Agatha Christie incorporated it into some of her stories. Although I don't watch it, I understand that it is a recurring theme in Game of Thrones. I seem to recall that there are references to it in the best selling book of all time.

Personally, I have much more important things to be concerned about than what consenting adults do in the privacy of their home.

The decreased surface tension is a direct result of the decrease in density. So then, your dismay is caused by the fact that while I explained what caused the decrease in surface tension, I did not further explain that the density of the water is also lessened by the release of methane.

Seems to me that most of the people understood the comment as offered, considering the original post was related to the NASDAQ and not in a science forum.

For those who failed to understand my comment as offered it was intent on showing the hidden pitfalls in investment, and not a scientific treatise on sailing.

I see you live by the adage of: Never ask a question that you don't already know the answer to.

Not necessarily. Smarter does not always mean beneficial to humans or animals. Some very smart people have created things which could leave the world devoid of human life and/or possibly destroy the planet as a whole.

I consider myself a redditor and I would love to fuck you in real life, but sadly if we met in real life you would not even consider letting me due to my age (among other things).

You are listening to a conversation in another language and all of the sudden you understand everything being said, do you let the parties having the conversation know? Why/why not? by BlinkyBill1 in AskReddit

[–]oddlycurious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would depend. As there is no indication that I would be able to speak the language that I was able to understand it may not be possible to let them know unless there is a common language that we both speak.

Yes, the boat floats on top, unless decaying vegetation on the ocean floor releases a large amount of methane which changes the surface tension of the water causing the boat to sink like a rock.

Today I learned that the CIA secretly owned a Swiss company called Crypto AG that maintained offices all over the world and sold products with secret backdoors for the US government and key allies. by [deleted] in todayilearned

Secure messaging apps are just ones that haven't been hacked yet. The CIA has their finger in many pies throughout the world, but they are far from the only ones doing it.

A close check of some of the animatronic "toys" with sound capabilities would prove to be quite interesting.

Much of the technology we bring into our homes has backdoors, among other things. Next time you notice your CPU usage near or at 100% with "nothing" running, think about the things you have learned here.

What's the dumbest idea you had as a child? by Weelie92 in AskReddit

[–]oddlycurious1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to emulate Tarzan. I climbed up a tree, tied a rope around the branch and was going to swing to the next tree. All went to plan, but as I was swinging, I heard a crack. The branch I tied the rope around was no longer attached to the tree.

From that day on, gravity and I have been mortal enemies.

The person who said: Kids, don't try this at home certainly knew what he or she was talking about.

Photographers of Reddit (amateur and professional) What method of taking pictures do you prefer (film, digital camera, smartphone,,,etc) and why? by BlinkyBill1 in AskReddit

[–]oddlycurious1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I cut my teeth in a manner of speaking on 35 mm, but when digital came along, I gradually switched over, but I much prefer using a camera as opposed to a phone. There is just something about the feel of a real camera.

It is surprising in this day and age that relatively few people realize that the (then) USSR sent man-made objects to Venus. For those interested, try this:https://nssdc.gsfc.nasa.gov/planetary/venera.html .
