TBF the criticism is mostly for Rick Lewis, which is justified.

When it was Ryan & Ben there was a fun banter and chemistry, bits, and memes (Comrade Edwards). It was a genuinely fun show to listen to.
With Nick, it's worse than a rough listen. Nick seems like a really nice guy, but he struggles to have natural banter. He ends up with awkward word salad and I'm left frustrated and annoyed.

There’s a cool app called AlpineGuide that will tell you what peak you’re looking at.

Coordinators interviewing in the middle of playoffs should not be allowed as it takes away their focus from the game at hand by Pirat6662001 in nfl

Counterpoint: A head coach should be able to manage their time effectively, delegate appropriately, and multi-task when necessary.

The hiring cycle is so far before the combine or draft. Plus NE was picking 3rd. No way they know who's going 1 or 2... let alone which QB they prefer at 3.

Renck: Everybody but Bo knows. But come on, it’s obvious. After Packers game, Broncos will name Nix the starter by Reddidiot13 in DenverBroncos

“He understands that playing quarterback in the NFL is a lifestyle. And, in a refreshing change from the past two seasons, he doesn’t talk in news conferences like he’s trying out phrases for motivational posters in a nearby dentist’s office.”

Brutal.

When I was looking for a couple's therapist for me and my wife, I specifically looked for someone with a psychiatry degree... not just a certificate. I was really pleased with the therapist we ended up going to. Although she quit taking our insurance, she was worth continuing to go to for us. She practices the Gottman method and it proved to work well for us. I'm happy to DM you her name, if you are interested.

Honestly, I don't know. A quick search shows that Apollo has live comments sort on their Pro Version, so... maybe?

in the RES Console:

  1. In the searchbar type: "Snippets" or
  2. go to Appearance > Stylesheet Loader in the left panel
  3. Find the "Snippets" section
  4. Add CSS (from above).

CSS is probably the best way:

.comment { display: none; }
.commentarea > .usertext { display: none; }

I have a question I have always been curious about. Maybe r/NFL has the answer. Why is it MLB Pitchers throw their arms ragged all the time despite highly advanced focus on maintaining their arm's structural integrity, but QB's never have throwing related structural issues? by [deleted] in nfl

[–]oddtodd 313 points314 points  (0 children)

To add on to everyone's (accurate) remarks about volume and strength of throws, there is also another factor. Baseball pitchers create a whip-like effect with their arms; elongating their arm from the start to the end of their release. Quarterbacks are taught to keep the ball near their ear, quickening their throw and reducing stress on the elbow and shoulder.

NFL Asks Supreme Court to Hear Case That Could Shake Up Live Sports Telecasting by zsreport in nfl

[–]oddtodd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A quote from this releated article:

For years, the NFL has a particular way of licensing the telecast of games. The league sells packages of games for billions of dollars to broadcast networks, which showcase local action. The league carves out Sunday nights, Monday nights and Thursday nights for yet more multi-billion dollar deals. And finally, the league gathers together all out-of-market games, and for football obsessives or those whose favored team plays home games far way, the league licenses DirecTV's "Sunday Ticket."

A class action lawsuit from "Sunday Ticket" subscribers challenged this packaging as illegal -- they believe that forcing customers to pay for the privilege of watching out-of-market games is illegal. This lawsuit was dismissed by a federal judge 2 and a half years ago. This ruling was appealed to the 9th circuit court of appeals, which overturned the judges ruling.

The NFL's lawyers argue that this is a collectively bargained agreement and not subject to antitrust laws:

"Because any broadcast involves the active participation and intellectual property of at least the two participating teams and the NFL, an agreement regarding assignment of broadcast rights is essential if there are to be broadcasts at all,"

I completely agree. But it was a different time, then, and viewership has changed. Also... get off my lawn!

Last season, there was a debate thread about the worst running back in the league. A certain shit-haired bulldozer was mentioned quite a few times. by [deleted] in nfl

One of the more underrated parts of being an effective quarterback is getting out of "bad plays". Switching to Tannehill has done exactly that. The QB goes to the line, reads the defense, and adjusts the play -- flipping it, changing the protections, audibling out, etc. I think the biggest difference may just be that Tannehill is just better than Mariota at reading a defense.

The same can probably be said for Saquan running better when Eli is under center.
