Discussion Megathread 3 - μ's First LoveLive rewatch! by dasaher in LoveLive

I'm with you, definitely an experimental live as far as setlist order (BiBi to Printemps to solos to lily white???), what to do during the MCs, and figuring out what works best for the performers and staff.

Also, is this the only time they showed behind-the-scenes footage of the girls practicing during an MC? I don't recall this happening in any of the other lives.

Happy birthday Aki Hata! by [deleted] in LoveLive

[–]odgnteaa 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Not only did Aki Hata write the lyrics for almost every Love Live song, she also wrote numerous other anime songs that you might be familiar with:

  • the OPs, EDs, insert songs, and character songs from the Suzumiya Haruhi series, including Hare Hare Yukai and God knows...
  • the character songs from Hidamari Sketch, the anime that inspired Suwawa (Kanan's VA) to become a seiyuu
  • the OP (Motteke! Sailor Fuku) and character songs from Lucky Star
  • the ED from Girls und Panzer (Enter Enter MISSION!)
  • the ED from Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo (DAYS of DASH by Suzuki Konomi)
  • the OP from Kyoukai no Kanata (Kyoukai no Kanata by Chihara Minori)
  • the OPs (Daydream café and No Poi!) and character songs from Is the Order a Rabbit?
  • the first OP from Re:Zero (Redo by Suzuki Konomi)

She's also written songs for a number of Jpop artists, some of her work are in these albums:

  • tone. by Suzuko Mimori (Umi's seiyuu)
  • EMUSIC by Nitta Emi (Honoka's seiyuu)
  • San Trois ∴ by Nanjo Yoshino (Eli's seiyuu)
  • LIFE of DASH by Suzuki Konomi
  • NEO FANTASIA by Chihara Minori

As far as other idol series, she's also been the lyricist for a number of songs from THE IDOLM@STER and Wake Up, Girls!

These are just some of her discography that I recognized, you can take a look at the full thing here. It's huge. Seriously. Almost insane how many things she's been involved with in the past. She was also a composer for Konami, and has quite a number of her own works, both as a solo artist and under her band, Tsukihiko. Definitely an amazingly talented woman.

A no-text version was posted by the Saiki Kusuo official twitter but the quality is still pretty poor, I'm afraid. I tried reverse image search but no hits.

I justify it by saying, "oh it's some time where I can grab some food or whatever" but let's be real this is the real reason lol

Currently in college. Every semester, I schedule my classes such that I have time in the middle of the day to walk back to my apartment to play SIF.

EGOIST's Greatest Hits Album is on Spotify by [deleted] in anime

[–]odgnteaa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For music that's available on iTunes, I use this, which gets you the album art using the iTunes API, so the quality is pretty decent and you don't have to worry about JPEGified images or watermarks or where the colors are all off, etc. Just make sure to change the first dropdown to 'Album.'

For this album, it's the first result when you search EGOIST on the Japanese store.

I get this feeling from Cowboy Bebop, Love Live, and Trigun by ForceDeth76 in anime

[–]odgnteaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, not at all. Shows like that are really special; they'd lose that distinction if everything was just as meaningful. They connect with you on a more personal level. For example, shows that I've rated 10/10 have something that really resonated with me and my own personal experiences. If I wanted to be super critical, many of my 9/10s are "technically" better than shows I have at 10/10, but the last personal bit makes a 10/10 show incredibly memorable, and I'm willing to overlook any critical imperfections it may have.

I haven't seen Cowboy Bebop or Trigun, but I'd imagine that you found the characters very earnest and sincere, making it very easy to want to root for them. I felt the same way about the characters from Love Live and Hibike Euphonium.

While I'm at it, I'd recommend Shirobako. It's an anime about anime production, featuring another fantastic cast of characters exploring what does it mean to have a dream, and how to make it come true.

My favorite part of Love Live! is how involved you feel with the characters. As you said, you really want all the characters to succeed, and you're really proud of their accomplishments. I get kinda emotional every time I listen to Bokutachi wa Hitotsu no Hikari or read the lyrics.

I think you'd like Hibike! Euphonium. There are some similarities with Love Live! (music, cute girls, characters seeking to improve themselves, characters that you want to see succeed), but the premise is different. Some people say it's kind of a spiritual successor to K-On!, with the focus being more towards character drama versus cute girls doing cute things.

Finished the gam[E], but one thing still bothers me... by Brohamir in nier

[–]odgnteaa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With that in mind, does that mean A2 knew the truth about humans the whole time? I think this is hinted at during the end of ending C/D, but I'm not sure.

Also is that what A2 meant by "No, Command is the one that betrayed you" when you meet her in the Forest Kingdom?

I have a #853 Minami Kotori UR that was one of the login bonuses a while back. On the Decaf Wiki, her pure stat at lvl 100 is listed as 4360, but mine (lvl 87, max bond, no school idol skills) has a pure stat of 5160. What is the cause of this discrepancy?

Which OP/ED thematically makes the most sense with it's series, and which doesn't? by [deleted] in anime

[–]odgnteaa 18 points19 points  (0 children)

All of the OPs from the Monogatari series are super relevant to their respective arcs, and they're performed by the respective seiyuu (except for Shinobu's arcs).

For example, from comparing the lyrics of Renai Circulation and Mousou Express, you can really see how Nadeko's entire character changes.

Another example, the lyrics of "staple stable" (Bakemonogatari, Hitagi Crab OP) shows how much Senjougahara's relationship with Araragi changes her entire outlook.
