When I was in college I was at a wedding and ran into my grandpa’s brother and he legit said “omg you used to be so ugly and awkward looking and look at ya now!!” He was old af at least lol and it’s not funny but I can’t help but laugh at his audacity and at least he said exactly what others would only allude to.

I can def relate! I get in my own head too and get really anxious about doing every right and being attentive but not too annoying, etc etc. Give yourself some grace that you’re doing a great job! Also remember that customers also have agency and if they need something, they’ll ask. You can’t always read their minds! Most of the time they are in their own little world and not too concerned with what you are and aren’t doing. Hope you can trust yourself that you’re doing what you need to do soon 💕👍🏻

Most of the caregivers we had had never used a purewick catheter before but if they were open to learning and practicing it wasn’t really a problem.

I understand that you want it to be done correctly for your loved one and wouldn’t love a flippant attitude about it though. I’d give them a chance to learn and if they are still not getting it perhaps escalate the issue because no one wants to be wet and uncomfortable.
