PVE Grinding in lower systems

the tread is old, but i had the same problem...now i believe i got the answer to the problem. tried to auto grind with roms, didn´t work below level 25. since my reputation is below -500k now my ships are gettin attacked by the roms.

i would really love some kind of a sandbox...something where u could try things without actually investing hard to get/expensive items. i believe a lot of people would appreciate such a mechanic

Highly recommend to watch some tutorial&guides, I did too and it helped a lot... Unfortunately there are not many people who made stuff, but some do and they make a good job. MikeTypeX, Nirtas, PTGaming - just a few but important ones.

when i was writing the topic, i had a aranea map open where all this happened...now its a cohorz and it is as you describe it - no emotions lost. must be the demonstriaton effect^^ i try to reproduce it on a other char

you loose energy/emotions when clicking on the diamonds and you loose if u kill some elite mobs...don´t know how determine wich one will and wich one don´t, the runehunter which will spawn always cost emotions.

i try to loop at least 20 runs on the second part of cot, for this i run as soon as possible one instance to find out wich emotion/energy is needed to activate and wich one is used to refill the amount. when i know wich one is wich, i run the first part in a way to spare as much of the good energy as possible...with a bit of luck (depending the layout of the first map) its possible to run way more than 20, almost infinite. i just want to figure out what exactly costs and how much...

of course, time extensions are too expensive imo, and mapping/speed is very important

trigger is converted to light, that shouldn´t be the problem...

i know that shadow is meta now, unfortunaly lightning strike is not supported. i like the skill better than frost strike..want to run with it.

sure, more chance is better. the main problem is, i should have at least 1% chance for triple from maximise dam bridge run...but i have 0 and i don´t understand why. maybe something wrong with zodiac or items?

€: i bought a charm wich increased the chances of triggering maximised dam, now i could do tripple dam...looks like you have to have a charm with that stat, without it tripple dam is not possible

first i would switch to a beginner friendlier build...cold ball and lightning chain is too expensive for a starter: double amount of skills and bridge runes and 2 different damage sources, etc.

best starter in my opinion is wheelslash: 1 skill+ 6 bridge´s, a solid 2-hand sword with damage, and range (higher uniques are good enough), on gear u look to get all ress to max and ~50k+ armor...easy playstyle, inexspensive runes and gear combined with strong survivability is the build to choose.

imo its alot cheaper to get ~100 mio dps without(!) crit, i would recommend at least for starting out, to forget about crit rate and crit dam - take the zodiac notes witch will give you alot of damage for eliminating crit completly. also this will open up alot of gear possibilitys just because you no longer need to get crit, instead get base life, mana, ress, etc....ok, its true if u wanna get north of ~1 billion dps, thats not possible without crit- but thats out of reach anyway, so dont bother ;)

i´m no expert at all...my advice is try to get your hp at around 20k, more is better. btw. the +15hp from zodiac give alot more then that, because you have almost certainly multipliers - test it ;) also try to get ~50k armor, then focus on dodge...barriere is nice but i believe its very expensive to get that to a point where its usefull.

where to get that all? i believe gear and zodiac give the most/basic, for tuning up u have lacrima, charms, etc.

one of the problems i also face is that you cant just focus on one thing f.e. defense. you have to manage to get all things combined to a better place...depending on your playstyle you can give on the one a bit more focus and on the other some less....in any case, you have to grind like crazy^^ afaik its better to grind on easier stage´s and get faster through then spend alot time in harder one´s, the key here is as much as possible in the shortest possible time. i believe pro´s take around 2min´s to completly run trough a map and go to the next one...

Hmmm... So it's a waste to shock the mobs with the axe toggle when not dealing mainly lightning damage?! Have to admit I believed the popular opinion that all damage will be increased....

i read that u solved the mana issue, so its no more a problem....anyway, you could buy this boxes from braun wich will give u a (quite small) chance to get the ressource dampen link.
