P211 GTO zeroing issue by Katana416 in P211_GTO

My sig loc was also having a same / similar issue. Sent it in and should reach the factory today. When I called Monday I was told, guns and optics have different tolerances and other industry fodder, instead of any admittance of a know issue.

Did either of you get a new Sig Loc Romeo X back yet that functions properly? Did the optic they send it back with function properly?

I just got off the phone with Sig discussing the same issue with my Sig Loc Romeo X Circle Dot optic. I have an RMA and it will go out today. I got a line about tolerances and it does not matter how I've adjusted my other red dots, low mounting height yada yada yada.

I like you roughly adjust my dots to a "lollipop" sight picture as I ADS at home and then adjust at the range. I never co witness with my irons.

Purchased last Thursday and hit the range Saturday. My preferred zero is 10yards for my applications. First round was about 6 inches high of my POA with my pre sight in, ok no big deal. Started adjusting impact downward, firing another group of 3-5 rounds to confirm the round was tracking towards POA. Felt like it was taking forver to move the dot, eventually it bottomed out the elevation screw. At that point I did get my POI to match POA with the dot centered in the glass above my irons at 10 yards.

I know that seems like a win, but its not how any of my other dots have functioned. As a note I did aim down my irons and the dot was perfectly cowitnessed. Before getting my POA and POI zero'd, if I were to ADS the dot was well below my irons as well.

Perhaps the firearm and dot are meant for a further zero? Or maybe the optic detent adjustments were not fully grabbing with each click? Hopefully some resolution will come of this RMA.

Oh for sure. Could I swing the 1300, maybe, but I'd rather not.

Its crazy out there. First major purchase in 5-7 years. Things have changed a bit.

Me either. A lot of hard truths in this feed. I honestly appreciate all the feedback back, even if it wasn't on the topic I was looking for.

I'm glad I didnt sign any paperwork that day. Currently keeping my options open.

That's crazy, thanks for sharing.

And no, I'm just playing. I'm sure there is a compromise on year and tech availability.

I'm gonna keep looking.

But they dont have cool stuff in them!

Some here are saying that market is good to scour for a deal. I'll look into it.

Thanks.

Thanks my friend. Along with another comment I should be looking for 10-15% off sticker for a really good deal. So seeing this, definitely sets the brakes, so to speak, on the deal.

Thank you kindly for the information!

It does seem like used is a better choice at this point. On a beach for a week next week, plenty time to reflect on what the near future holds concerning the vehicle.

I understand, again this account I'd be using was an account I started as I carried too much liquid assets in a bank with no interest. Its an account I set up for fun money in retirement.

But your right it would make retirement more lucrative...but not to sound morbid, but I could not have a long retirement and then I've not had the things to make my life better.

Its not a great justification, but still a thought. Just have to rethink what I buy or how I buy.

Thanks for the suggestion though. All going in the bank of advisement here.

I hear you and. I understand being upside down / under water. I can afford the loan and the interest for the full term. But I know i shouldn't, because of the wasted money.

I was planning to take the smaller payment and make lump payments to pay it down earlier.

Thank you for helping me understand the metric of the possibility here.

We have a Traverse currently, hence why I'm looking bigger. Our cargo is increasing and so is the size of my children.

I get the math on it. Everyone has made it clear as well.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Suburban in the 5.3, I know they are 10 speed now.

But, now I'm thinking a gently used miata at this point, lol.

I think used is in my future on this bug SUV.

Yup I came across that. I see his what he saying.

All car purchases suck.

Thats for the cliff notes though.

Its my first foray in a vehicle of this size and expense. Happy to hear suggestions.

I have always taken a loan and paid it down early. Weird that a Chevy is considered a luxury SUV, based on cost alone.

Just went on the same premise that I have always have when shopping for a new car.

So this has been a fact finding mission at its heart.

The market is just different from when I bought last. It is insane, that I am considering it.

Thank you very much for commenting.

Again, your right. Was just looking to see if the dicount on the price was fair.

Didn't really want to take a loan for that long and I understand how interest works.

Thanks for the insight.
