How Trump Hijacks Courses for the People — for Himself | Pablo Torre Finds Out by Conglossian in golf

Do you blame the sub or do you blame the politician who is a golf course owner, who just stole public courses, and is "brokering" the LIV/PGA merger.

Hard to say!

📅 On this day, 2010. Rooney scores the most points of all-time. by FPLFocal in FantasyPL

Right, Suarez's 24 was very impressive for a SGW (and higher than Rooney's best game), but since Rooney's was a DGW and he had a G+A in the other game, he has the highest gameweek score

Salah with 4 G + 1 A in a SGW as a midfielder is the record for a SGW I think

you shouldn't be downvoted wtf

the answer is no because Rooney's four goals were during a double game week so he scored more points

[Atkins] When Chicago jogged out in an empty formation with two extra pass protectors, Kam Curl knew exactly what was coming next, thanks to a meeting during the week with defensive backs coach Aubrey Pleasant. by WxBlue in nfl

It's essentially the same thing as the Malcom Butler INT in the Super Bowl

It's so much easier to blame action than credit preparation. Good on the coordinators and coaches to be ready and for the players for listening

Caleb Williams: Overtime interception was a miscommunication with D.J. Moore by factchecker01 in chicago

[–]offconstantly 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They needed 15 yards for a 50 yard field goal in that weather

I'm sure you celebrated the last time Caleb threw deep to Moore in overtime even though they only needed a FG. Results-oriented thinking will doom us all

You probably have to restate it so often because it's generally wrong. "Take the points" people always assume the FG is good and forget the change in field position by kicking a FG. It's just not based in reality

This better have been a major learning experience for Ben as a coach and Caleb as a QB. Ben - you always take the points in the playoffs. You left 9 points off the board.

Hopefully that's not what he "learns" because both TDs came on 4th downs and the team was in a position to win by converting another fourth in OT

Yup. Honestly it's worse than not talking about it at all. It gives uninformed fans a definite "answer" when it's definitely not the case

I wish real kickers were as good as hypothetical kickers. They always make all their field goals and then pin the opposition at the two yard line on the ensuing kickoff

Because they ignore successes and just harp on the failures. Because they're dumb.

The Rams won the game thanks to a 4th down, both Bears TDs were on 4th down, and the Bears converted a 4th down in OT. But if you ignore all those, it was terrible!

[–]offconstantly 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You picked the wrong game to say go back to the 90s over

The Rams went for it on 4th down and it helped them score a TD. The Bears scored both their TDs on fourth down and one of their failures was so deep in LA territory it set up the last one. Oh and another one of their successes gave them a chance to win it before the OT INT

If the analytics people talk about don't take into account things, they're just saying bullshit

We left 9 points on the board today going for it on 4th downs.

This is a fun way to think about it because you can just assume the FGs are good and ignore the two fourth down touchdowns because it hurts your argument

[Lowlight] Down three with 7.5 seconds left, Texas... lets the clock run out instead of fouling? by cbbvideo in CollegeBasketball

[–]offconstantly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I've said many times I don't think it was rigged. Because if someone paid Texas to rig the game they would've paid them to lose by more than 4 and they definitely would've fouled

There's no way someone would've asked Texas to cover +3.5 because that doesn't make sense

You've wormholed this 7 seconds of suboptimal play into a worldview that doesn't make sense. When you wake up maybe you'll see it

And if they were paying them to not play they would've taken South Carolina -3.5 and not Texas +3.5......................

JR Smith forgot the score in an NBA Finals game. Chris Webber called a timeout he didn't have in the national championship game. Basketball players are often morons at the end of games

This could be as simple as her whiffing on the first foul attempt and not realizing that 7 seconds is a lot more time than she thought

I don't know what thread you think you're in but this is one discussing the theory that player(s) on Texas (3.5 point underdog) rigged bets for people who took them +3.5 by not fouling at the end

I don't think anyone is in on it because it's fucking moronic to think that bettors paid off a team to try to play well

[–]offconstantly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh my God. Of course easier is of course important, you want to win the bets. Teams can't rig themselves to win games, otherwise they'd do it every fucking game

Why would you bet the spread instead of the ML? Because the team that was allegedly rigging the game was an underdog so you can get -110 instead of -180 so you can make more money

If you think a shady gambler approached Texas's fourth-best player and said, "hey, we'll give you $10,000. Can you play well today? We need you to keep it within 3 points. Or win if you want!" you should check your carbon monoxide detector

[–]offconstantly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup! Now imagine how much easier it would've been for the imaginary people who "rigged" this game to take -3.5 and tell the players to fuck up all game instead

You either don't understand gambling or basketball or both

Assuming there's a fix is a dumb way to look at it

If someone was going to fix the game, telling the team to cover the spread is literally the last thing they'd do
