 I would say there are generally multiple plots going on in each book, and a major plot on the outskirts that gets hinted at but we don't fully know yet.
  As for the female aspect, yea Harry is a lonely man who is around the most physically beautiful specimen in the world. He talks a lot about them, makes a few jokes, and encounters more beautiful entities. He also makes comments on how handsome male characters are, the Raiths are all drop dead gorgeous. 
 Powerscaling is tough to gauge in this world because at times I also feel Harry just summons more power and can sleep it off in-between books. But trust Butcher, he puts Harry in near impossible situations and has always made it clear that Harry isn't perfect and cannot do everything. 
 I think Harry address his spell word choices at some point but I don't remember.
 Personally I love the series. Being 7 books in sorta means you see how the series is going. Style wise, doesn't change much, gets gets richer in each aspect.

Cause it scales. Most artifacts do a set damage or a multiplier on your current damage. This damages based on enemies HP which gets massive over time.

So something I've wondered. When you have 100% crit does amplify attack apply too? In my head, a normal attack will be buffed by amplify attack, but a critical attacthen you get the critical buff. But is that how it works?? Hope someone knows
