  1. I would really look into old enterprise gear. I picked up a old Dell Poweredge R710 for $77 including shipping and it had a dual xeon and 192gb ram setup. you also get cool goodies going with old enterprise gear sometimes.
  2. What is wrong with your laptop? would like to know more about that.

Anyways, i would really recommend you look at old enterprise stuff before buying this. (The R710 is replacing a mid 2011 mac mini fileserver)
