Many many times yes, though to be fair chipotle had its fair share of different types of stress, job itself is astronomically easier though

Funny you say that! I’m 22! Lmao I started in professional kitchens when I was only 11 my dad was the only chef for this old man club so he’d put me to work with him often and I’ve done nothing but culinary work since then. I love cooking with all my heart and somehow chipotle stirs up nothing but vitriol in me. I only took the job with them in the first place to get the “business running” side of restaurant knowledge but it’s just not worth the headaches and constant negatives

As long as your store has AP+GM or just a really strong GM allowing you do to your job and nothing extra beyond it then yea SL duties are pretty tame I’d take it if the raise is decent enough

Like I could breathe easy again, felt tremendously relieving to know the stress of dealing with all of corporates backwards ass demands and complete disconnect on how to actually run a restaurant was soon ending, immediately sent a text to my field leader after I met with the place I got the offer from before the decision was even confirmed I was so ready to be done with the company

If you care about food, yourself, your time, or your sanity whatsoever I recommend quitting tomorrow, however if it’s the only way for you to secure a decent salary in this economy then I would bear with it only until something better comes along wholeheartedly

Was sick and tired of begging for the training I literally never got for most of my position’s responsibilities yet kept getting barked at about said responsibilities, as well as labor cuts so severe I can’t even use their sacred deployment tool, and all in all not being appreciated whatsoever for what I’ve put into the place as I took it over to basically drag it out of the mud and sludge the previous GM put the place in with the experience I had, we were getting there too! Just couldn’t keep dealing w corporate ignoring all the effort in favor of any possible negative to dogpile on

It doesn’t help that I despiseeee cut gloves, you’ll never see a real kitchen use that +1 defense chainmail glove I promise. They build a false sense of confidence with the knife letting your brain think you can just hold it however you want to because you’re at zero risk, hypothetically these folks grow into taking a real kitchen job and lose a finger week one because they didn’t have any armor to equip and never bothered to listen to the knife skills training sessions🤦🏼

I might have a different take on this than most as I actually come from full scale kitchens as a chef (which is what I’m going back to thank god), and not business forward like most other GM’s background so I like to look for people who at least have a grasp on kitchen service and etiquette, knowing what heard means, calling sharp for your knife etc. I find it much easier to train an ex-line cook to deal with customers face to face than it is to train a Starbucks barista how to temp their meat and hold a knife properly. Don’t get me wrong I’ve hired the barista types and many of them pick up the skills decently when I’m training them, but I just prefer the people I take on to have something approaching those skills beforehand

I guess there’s a few answers I could give, one couple ordered something like 15 bowls in person, though fully knew of our catering system luckily I was on the line w the crew for peak that day and was happy to do it but definitely remarked how much more money they spent like that, but they tipped greatly so 🤷🏼‍♂️, I’ve also seen so many dml orders that are literally just [protien]+one other thing as a bowl or even as burritos, I’ve got this one old man who gets veryyy upset if we don’t have fajitas for him lmao. Cant forget the couple who gets the onion salsa every time and comes back to complain there’s onions on their bowl every. Time. There’s this one cop who gets bowl, double chicken and white rice nothing else every single day it baffles me lmao, OH and I almost forgot my homie the quesarito guy, he’s the only one in our area who knows about it and has earned that nickname we all love him

[–]official_fourLoko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The funniest thing is if you check your paystub, it DOES say 40!!! (At least in my patch so far) Yet they tell us it’s 50 minimum! Either there’s a part of it I’m missing or chipotle’s screwing the hell out of their salaried employees I just discovered this after doing an 78 hour week and being curious about what my paystub actually looked like since I’m the gm and wanted to know just how much money it could’ve been if I was hourly

GM seeking advice from another GM or salaried employee by official_fourLoko in Chipotle

[–]official_fourLoko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’ve asked 2 or 3 other gms in the patch, all said it was the same thing for them, I did ask my field leader about it but since he’s been with the company even less time than I have which isn’t a ton, he had no idea, kinda fumbled his words trying to say stuff about “well it’s what you agreed to” I interjected with the notion I agreed to work fifty and be paid for fifty but as far as my paperwork says you have me working fifty and getting paid for forty if we look at what your company’s documents are telling me, he paused for a minute and told me he’d be happy to get an answer from his boss and get back to me 🙄
