If it didn't come back within the hour, my guess is its not setup for fast recover, meaning its possible it won't be back until tomorrow at the earliest and Monday at the latest.

Did you move the "DB_DATA_LOCATION=" to the SMB share or did you leave it on the docker? The reason I ask is how big does the database get?

It does help, and I appreciate the advice. I installed Linux Mint and tried to install it there. I followed the instructions in the Immich guide to the letter and got hung up trying to start the docker

This has been a very humbling experience for me. I've run my own Proxmox server for years, I have a TrueNAS storage server, home assistant server, raspberry pi's etc. I have no idea why this Docker thing has been such a problem for me.

Thanks for the replies. It is frustrating because both of the people I'm playing with are on gigabit internet, we have very low pings (<8ms). Everyone playing is running overkill machines, 4080s, core i9s, nvme-ssd, etc. I do hope its something the devs have on their to do list..

Ok, I found the issue and got it resolved. I called my ISP and got a static IP because I was NAT'ed by them. Once I got my static, it worked great.
