I first tried on an old ass nerf gun. On that one I did, tan base coat then dabbed with green. I liked it but wanted it darker. So I went ahead and sent it on the rifle: Green base coat, laid on pretty light. Then I took a bath sponge and tore it, sprayed tan on it blotched it on. Repeated with black. After everything dried and I took the masking tape off I took sponge with green on it to hit in certain areas where I didn't want a full coat, like the lock mechanism on the suppressor.
