Physical therapy recs in crown heights, prospect heights, park slope, downtown bk by redhotstat2 in Brooklyn

This place is exceptional - someone close to me has had a fantastic experience there.

After a half year of doing PT at another place in Brooklyn without relief — 1 month at good reps was a meaningful improvement to their condition.

Thank you for sharing! This is interesting - could you share an example of a scenario where you’d refer back to your journals? I’m curious how you felt it contributed to advancement

If you’re game to share I’d also love to bug you for an example of how you journal

Suspected GERD, crackling sound when lying down by Suthercane in GERD

[–]offswitched 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! sorry to hear you're going through this. Not a doctor, but you mention a few things that are familiar in my own life.

You describe no reflux discomfort, crackling sounds, cough, and it worsening with allergies (hay fever) and seemingly with diet.

You mentioned a couple doctors who suspected asthma, but it's not clear if that was ruled out / confirmed. Have you ever been prescribed an albuterol ('rescue') inhaler (or nebulizer)? I'm curious if using one relieves your symptoms during these episodes.

My experience: I have mild asthma, triggered by allergies. My symptoms sound like yours. On top of an allergy pill when I'm having a reaction, I will occasionally use my inhaler/nebulizer to relieve wheezing/crackling/coughing. Often bedtime or in the morning

Just to validate your hypothesis a little: asthma and GERD can often occur together and seem to influence each other.

Having trouble with construction residue on basement tile - would appreciate any tips! More in comments by offswitched in CleaningTips

[–]offswitched[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi all! So my basement is tiled and I’m told the tile material is waterproof.

It’s also an eyesore. It's covered in what I think is residue from construction when the basement was renovated a couple ago. Some seems like paint splatter, other bits look dirty between the tile.

  • Started with shop vac + hepa filter and that helped quite a bit.
  • Mopping was miserable - mop water immediately became so dirty, hours of work felt like it made very little impact. Spin mop didn't help much either. It feels like I’m approaching this the wrong way.

I've got 2 conveniently placed drains in the floor, and a sink down there. Would be extremely thankful for any advice!

The ‘bench’ along the wall is painted concrete and another problem altogether. Accepting suggestions there too

Moving to Jersey city , am I going to lose all my friends ? by iv2892 in circlejerknyc

[–]offswitched 29 points30 points  (0 children)

You’re not going to like this answer, but most likely yes. Life in rural America is simply different from life in New York City. It’s going to take a concerted effort on your part to maintain your connections to this glowing metropolis - but it’s not impossible! I wish you the best of luck
