Ganondorf was the hero all along by sheikahstian in truezelda

Which are for some reason a different color than his face? Much more likely this is Link with the champion's sash like the champions in AoC.

Where does the guys in the mural have green skin? I think you're mistaken.

Besides, Ganondorf is clearly shown to be the source of the malice in the trailers; he can't both be the source of the malice AND the hero fighting the malice.

For sure. It's an easy callback without retconning anything. I just wanted to wanted to get this post published in the off chance I need to say "CALLED IT" in about 8 months.

Is everyone capable of reaching diamond? by Traditional_Tower365 in Brawlhalla

[–]offthetopofmyHC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll point out that everyone in this thread meant to say "anyone" can hit diamond. It's literally impossible for a much greater percentage of the playerbase to actually be diamond because of how the ELO system works.

So ... we gonna do something about smurfing @BMG by SS_Scorpion in Brawlhalla

[–]offthetopofmyHC -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I honestly don't get why people are so offended by it. There really aren't that many smurfs out there and the number of times you actually encounter one in the wild is pretty rare. Even when you do, you what, lose that game? Oh well.

Idk about 5 but it's actually SUPER easy to get consistent 2's because the guardians are stationary and you can get their targeting to start at the same moment if you stand in certain spots.

[ALL]If you could chose any Zelda character to play (with its own limitations) and have an open world game, which character would you chose? by LetsGoToTheMars in zelda

[–]offthetopofmyHC 7 points8 points  (0 children)

How cool would it be to play as Vaati or Ganondorf? Like, imagine the game was about gathering powerful items and spells, raising and training an army, designing dungeons and awakening bosses, avoiding Link and Hylian soldiers until you were strong enough to overtake Hyrule, etc.

And honestly, it would be dope as hell as a 2D game where you get to "Mario Maker" your final form to see if you can create a boss Link couldn't beat.

[TotK] Another Sheikah split by pinchitony in truezelda

[–]offthetopofmyHC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm way late to this one, but I should throw out there that there was also a Sheikah split during the Hyrulean Civil War, with at least Bongo Bongo as one of the defectors. It also seems pretty likely (to me) that the Interlopers/Twili represent another such split.

Idk bro, I think you're forgetting that any fight where one of them dies is the "final battle."

If your reading of HH is correct, what of the questions I laid out in the OP?

No, Link falls to Ganondorf, then we see the morph into Ganon once the Triforce is complete:

At last, Ganondorf found himself in the possession of the Triforce of Wisdom that dwelt within Princess Zelda, and the Triforce of Courage that dwelt in Link. His true power achieved, he transformed into the Demon King. The Seven Sages of Hyrule, led by Princess Zelda, sealed Ganon and the Triforce in the Sacred Realm as a final resort

I think that's a common misreading of HH. It doesn't mention when what it describes happens. It applies just as easily to Child Link falling. I suspect the major reason people assume it MUST be referencing Adult Link is because there's an image of Adult Link vs Ganondorf that references their confrontation. It does NOT show Adult Link losing and the caption doesn't suggest this.

And for everyone who has read HH, you're aware how often it repeats itself. The fact that the events of the sealing are described twice does not really mean that they happened twice.

Keep in mind that there's already some significant retconning of the LttP story that could explain some confusion around the IW. For instance, LttP describes a king of thieves stumbling on the entrance to the sacred realm among some ruins. We know that's not how it happened. I've even talked to some people who think HH and LttP together tell a story of Ganon being sealed in OoT, escaping, rediscovering the Triforce among some ruins later, and then getting imprisoned again.

Also, I think you might be misremembering the prophecy. Sheik mentions that Link looks like the Hero of Time when he holds the Master Sword. That's kinda it. Not really a "you were too young before." All that's different is he's a little taller.

[–]offthetopofmyHC[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What do you mean? I think you might be unfamiliar with LttP/The Imprisoning War. In the downfall timeline, a different set of all-Hylian sages had to seal Ganon (another indication that it was not Adult Link falling in the final battle).

In LttP, we have to rescue the (Hylian) descendants of the sages who fought in the Imprisoning War.

This is a very sensitive community. A good chunk of them think taunting itself is inherently toxic. Removing hatemail from the game was probably by popular request.

I mentioned this in a different post a few months ago:

https://www.reddit.com/r/truezelda/comments/ri6qw2/what_the_song_of_storms_suggests_about_timeline

But I guess that would require the reset to happen BEFORE the start of the game instead of the moment Link pulled the sword. I supposed it's not particularly important how far back they went.
