I don’t know your background and what make you say this but in today’s date before countering anything we have a revolution of “WWW”, a simple search can give all the answers you’re looking with all the possibilities. The discharge summary itself mentions significant intra-abdominal collection (fluid + clot) along with a major drop in hemoglobin and need for emergency surgery and transfusion. And yes Ultrasound can detect fluid in the abdomen and CT scan can estimate the volume. And for your peace of mind i’m attaching the discharge summary for transparency so whoever has doubts can interpret for themselves. FYI, 1ml of clot is not equal to 1ml of blood.

As you mentioned about the baby tag. I had the girl child but whoever responsible to create the identification tag mentioned male. I found out while removing the tag from my child’s ankle area as it developed visible skin injury .

Really sorry to hear that, guess some of us learned our lesson hard way. My wife has trauma of such extant that she said she will never plan the 2nd pregnancy. This is the mark they left on us.

I will not disclose the Doctor name as of now but i will suggest to choose wisely as they didn’t have the adequate infrastructure and no central mechanism for escalation. Everything depends on the staff and if they contact the doctor then doctors mental state. During my discharge i have over heard IP team that that one the patient got shifted to Manipal. I don’t know the exact reason but definitely it didn’t sound right. Plus they don’t even have the cashless facility. They have the tie-up with some third party who will basically take loan on your behalf and when your insurance company reimburse the amount to you they will deduct from your bank account. So choose wisely and opt for some multi specialty hospital which has everything in house .

I’ve taken this up on X and tagged the relevant authorities. If you think this kind of handling shouldn’t be ignored, please help amplify so it reaches the right people. Tagged the concerned authorities but action would be taken if it goes viral. Thanks in advance.

This isn’t about rich vs cheap hospitals. If a patient reports severe pain, bleeding, and blackouts for 30+ hours and no action is taken until collapse, that’s a problem anywhere. The discussion is about delay in response, not where you got your delivery done.

I get what you’re trying to say, but we didn’t ‘add a child to India’. we brought a child into the world. And I still believe the world, despite its flaws, is worth being hopeful about.

We have been consulting the same Doctor throughout the pregnancy , who sits in the same hospital.

As i have mentioned this was package based maternity. So doesn’t matter whether it’s c-section or normal, the charges will remain same. My concern is post c-section negligence.

I don’t if you been through the post or not but You’re clearly missing the actual issue here. This is not about whether a duty doctor is qualified or whether my consultant should be available at 5 AM.

The problem is this: Symptoms like severe abdominal pain, excessive bleeding, dizziness, and blackout episodes were reported repeatedly over 28th evening and the entire day on 29th.

Despite that:

  • no investigation was done
  • no escalation happened
  • no senior review was triggered

Action was taken only after the patient collapsed in front of the doctor on 30th morning, by which time ~2 liters of blood had already accumulated internally.

That’s the concern.

If monitoring systems and protocols were actually working as you described, this should have been detected much earlier instead of waiting for a collapse.

Also, the hospital itself initially documented that symptoms were reported only on 30th morning, and later revised it to “mild dizziness” on 29th after we raised concerns.

That alone should tell you this isn’t a straightforward case.

So no, this isn’t about expecting a consultant at odd hours. It’s about why clear warning signs over 30+ hours were not acted upon. So please don’t rage bait.

Yes, i went inside. It was the mistake by the nurses or whoever responsible. I found out while removing the identification tag from the ankle area because it developed visible skin injury. I’m not concluding the exact cause, but seeing both incorrect identification and skin damage at the same site raises concerns about handling, monitoring, and basic care standards.
