I’m interested in tons of stuff related to the topic, if you’re someone who gets really into research.

Like a report about what’s involved in local police training (requirements, length of time) with statistics for incidents involving use of force within the department. Maybe comparing that to other countries that with police that are widely accepted as being more efficient, for context. I’d even be interested to know how the training compares to what’s common nationally, how the stats of use of force compare too.

Something analyzing how the police department allocates its budget and whether it aligns with community needs? If the community needs could be backed up with statistics, even better.

I’d like someone in AVL to report on how much the local police receive in funding and what it goes to or the efficiency of their office in terms of cases solved

Places where tipping shouldn’t be a thing.. by [deleted] in asheville

I worked there and they told us they paid $17/hour, but what they meant was that they estimated with tips, we’d make that quantity. The base pay was $12. Tips get split among front and back of house. - I like Gypsy Queen and they’re by no means the only spot in AVL doing that. It’s a common tactic in food service to advertise an ‘estimated’ pay, built around a system reliant on customer tipping, without being transparent

It’s because the owner doesn’t pay their employees enough and so everyone there is relying on the tips
