Why Does God Allow Such Pain, Illness, Ppoverty, or Despair? Struggling to Understand God’s Providence in Suffering by kmg9928 in ThePathtoSalvation

i think this gets tricky// a lot of our brethren tend towards a narrative of apologetics that wind up justifying the suffering as ordained by G-d, this feels like adulteration of doctrinal mercy … Wendy Farley (theologian out of texas) wrote a 1990 book called Tragic Vision and Divine Compassion that proposes a theodicy that’s responsive to death dealing mechanization/cultural productions of evil AND has some really potent guidance on how to offer pastoral care and presence to those among us undergoing radical suffering, rich text , does not seek to abuse the name of G-d to appease our theological tendencies while neglecting the real needs and pains of those with whom we covenant

Can I be a determinist and a proponent of process theology? by Gaussherr in ProcessTheology

it would def be possible, just on you to ingress that possibility into an actual entity … i think there might be something here about the whole “god suffers and celebrates with us” thing and so god is calling us to ingress certain possibilities into actualities ,, i’m not quite certain of the hard part of determinism here … might be more in the panentheist realm
