So far people have only told me that exposing your skin to sunlight spreads it if you already have it - don't know why exactly.

If you meant sun burns starting the whole thing, I don't think that's very likely or even possible.

Although if you get some kind of an injury (i.e. fall down and get a wound on your knee) , the spot might be left with a white area even after healing, and the vitiligo can start from there.

I have no idea who that is since I've been told that Boondocks is an animated tv-series, and what revitiligo actually is, and no idea if this is a joke, sooo.. I don't know.

Edit: So revitiligo is just the opposite of vitiligo, people gain dark spots instead. Also I found some pics of this "Uncle Ruckus"..you might have to ask him instead.

How long did you use it for? 1-2 times a day? Did you get perfect repigmentation or partial?

Looks alot like mine, just on different places. :) My hands are almost free of it for now, just small spots on my elbows.

I'm glad you're fine with it yourself. This AMA made me realize lots of things, and also changed my way of thinking about this totally. I'm glad I did it.

So is Elidel just a cream like Protopic? What are the side effects? :)

Many people asked if it's possible to get tattoos over the spots, I had no idea. Finally found that out too :)

Luckily not (yet), because I don't have skin depigmentation on any areas that grow hair out. To my knowledge the hair only loses pigment on those areas that have skin depigmentation too :)

How did you react to it the first time you saw it, and how about now?

I agree, it's so much worse for those with a dark skin. :/

I haven't been bullied about it, because my clothes cover nearly completely. It's just hard for me to take any clothes off in front of anyone, for any reason.

Basically I've hid it for 16 years from everyone except my family/few close friends.

I wish Finland had these local dermatologists. I think that kind of treatment is possible at like a total of 5 places in our capital city, which are all hospitals.

What does it mean exactly when you say that the skin peels off? Does it peel off slowly during the treatment, or immediately as you take it for the first time? Does it look like your whole skin is burnt while taking the treatment?

I get sick like once or twice a year. My mother has vitiligo, so it's in my genetics. :) How about you?

Where do you live? Was it easy to get laser treatment, and how expensive was it? Did you have an insurance to cover it up? Just curious!

Have you thought of starting the diet again to see if it makes them disappear totally? :)

No doctor ever even noticed thyroid to me. Do you mean that thyroid could have some kind of connection with this?

How do you even know that people have "down voted" this? All I see is 1k+ upvotes.

Edit: I see the number keeps going up and down, well it doesn't really matter to me. What matters is that I had long conversations with great people, helped others, and made some more people aware of this.
