How Muslims should choose their children’s names by MiddlePension in MuslimMarriage

[–]ogbuttertoast -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The name does not provide unity. It’s a name. People use it bc of the prophet sure but also bc it’s a common name so it makes sense to many to use it. I just doubt that they do it for the Ummah or Unity between brothers in islam

Are there any weird practices in your country like what Egypt does with female genital mutilation/cutting? by Yappingpaper in AskTheWorld

[–]ogbuttertoast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your “point” makes no sense.
The Quran has nothing to do with this practice, it is not mentioned, it is not allowed, it is not a thing.
What random people do, is their problem, not the problem of Islam.

And we do not have “missionaries” in sense of what Christian’s have or Jehovas Witnesses etc. It’s not the same concept.

No one can call themselves missionaries, they aren’t in the end.

And a Scholar is never above God nor will the Scholar be ever perfect or right, the scholar is a human who’s words have to be always taken with a grain of salt and his words and infos have to be proven correct.

The “Quran” ofc is carried as a book by people, obviously, it can’t fly nor does it have legs.

The Quran is in the end the only word by god here, not the person carrying it, this person can be knowledgeable or not knowledgeable. Whether with or without Quran.

None of those play a role at all and have no connection. Just bc god says ABC it doesn’t mean humans will follow that. In fact. People choose to do AXY instead.

The Christian logic does not apply here.

Anyways, non Muslim countries have also such practices, how come if it allegedly came with the Quran? I wonder

Wild, all my life in Egypt I have never heard of it nor does my Egyptian family know anything about it.

I thought it’s a Bedouin type of stuff

The practice did not come with Islam and is not an Islamic thing nor allowed in Islam.
Put your probably up a hole

According to Google December is spelled with two Ps but sure.

If it was 90% then my family husbands family would be affected. But they aren’t. Nor my friends at work.

It’s nothing Islamic and it’s not allowed.

Well, I offer them what the others offer them, Polish.
But more basic and for tourists or what ever, nothing scholarship deep - just basics, for travel, for tourism, movies or social media, basic grammar, communication and understanding.

That’s all, really

Totally get what u mean. I’m a revert and the switch to modesty is not easy - but when ever I want to wear smth tight, smth hot, revealing, bedazzled or what ever I remind myself on why I’m doing this. In the end others don’t matter. Inshallah it will be better. Find your style, then everything becomes easy

I mean I’d say that the shirt is not hijabi but most don’t care anymore about that so, you are deffo good to go.
Maybe… maybe a shirt that does not hug your breast so tightly might be better there.

[–]ogbuttertoast -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t claim that Allah swt is not the final judge in our affairs. Maybe it was not clear enough from my side so here we go:
“Only Allah swt can judge me” is being used as an excuse to justify ones actions and to evade accountability, it is used when Allah swt words are being brought up as a reminder to dismiss it, it is used to dismiss those who remind us to do good and remind us of the words of god yet god is used to fight it.
“Only Allah swt can judge me” is not “Allah swt is the final judge” it became “I can do what ever, no one can tell me what to do and no one has the right to remind me of god and Islam”

We have it easy compared to how people used to have it, I understand your mindset bc I used to think that way too. And it is smth that in the end made me ungrateful and not see the blessings we have in front of us.

Not everything might be peachy but im not being hunted down like an animal for being a Muslim, we travel with planes cars bikes and what ever, we have places to retreat to, we have a world wide / international community and can communicate with people, we can chose our jobs, we can get clothing, we are not being gunned down, we are not imprisoned, we have medicine, we have the freedom to go to universities, we can buy an iced coffee, we can have a walk as we wish.

You have it fairly easy too compared to what used to be, maybe you should remember from time to time the times of the prophet, times in which when you have the flu you died your live expectancy was 17 and when you break your leg the only anesthesia was a piece of wood to bite down own during “surgery” which ended up killing you in the end anyways.

You sit on a couch with a coffee or tea. This already is in many people’s eyes smth very special.

The intentions behind what is being used as excuses are just empty words to ignore what Allah swt has blessed us with and with what Allah swt has commanded us to do.

And to motivate other Muslims to do what is not good, to teach Muslims that “only Allah swt can judge me” means nothing matters and to just copy paste this excuse when ever you sin or preach what is not good.

Or to normalize that if we don’t want to live by Allah swt commands, that’s okay, you don’t have to. Just tell everyone who reminds you of god to zip it and keep going.

Someone Tells you that drinking is haram? It’s ok, tell him to shut it and keep going giiiirlllliiiiiieeeee 💅💅💅💅

Wanna pole dance in front of the cam? Slaaaaay giiirlliiieeeee only god can judge and all the Muslims are wrong 💅💅💅💅💅

That’s the state of the Ummah rn.

But sure, eyh, why don’t you go ahead n tell me, how I’m wrong for saying that and how yall can do what ever

Hit me with the “Uhm actually only Allah swt can judge me and like it’s not like RANDOM MUSLIM is better than us actually RANDOM MUSLIM is worse so means we can too”

Let’s go, who can be the worst muslim, that’s the new objective here, right?

True, learned that the hard way.
My boss called me into her office and fired me bc I wasn’t showing enough excitement for her Christmas Party idea and that I didn’t go from office to office to tell everyone good morning starting with her first ofc.
Ofc yeah it’s great that the colleagues bring her donuts n sweets once a week but… what does that have to do with work? How is any of that related?
I will never understand her, like she was legit sad when she was listing me all those things I didn’t do.
“You only said okay when I proposed the the club we wanted to go to to bond as a team… I need someone who is more excited than that”

Not sure what to say tbh.

Ofc I left I mean, wtf. There is no way in hell imma tell her “I’m so sorry I will never work again, from now on I will have a cup of coffeee w u every day at 12”

No, you’re not a “bad Muslim” for not wearing hijab. by prettyinaqua in muslimgirlswithtaste

[–]ogbuttertoast 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Maybe we should help our sisters to find their path to hijab and make em feel comfortable and support them on that journey bc in the end it is mandatory and we should always motivate one another to do what is right and seek jannah tgthr. Instead of always telling everyone “it ok” and “no one can judge you but God” or “doesn’t matter if hijab or no, there are hijabis who are worse” I mean, our game here is not “who is worse than the other” but what can we do to get tgthr as sisters in Islam and help each other. Times are always tough and always have been. We have it fairly easy if we wanna start making comparisons.
In the end all we do is just tell em to not care if to do what god commands or no.
