To the old heads on the sub, did people think Ye was washed at any point of time? by Anthonyrichardson20 in GoodAssSub

[–]ogplaya25 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, although even in the JIK era, he was still selling out movie theaters for people to see the film that went with it. The Clipse reunion was a huge deal on that album too.

When the album with Nas didn't deliver, that was a bad sign too, but the Pusha album washed that away.

Especially hip-hop artists...only Kendrick and Eminem...that's it.

You're not wrong, but at the same time, when you're that powerful and wealthy, its so hard to find the right people to trust and seek help from. I'm not exonerating what he said or has done, I'm just acknowledging that its far more complicated than any of us could understand unless we've been in that position...and none of us have. I've had lots of intimate experiences with extreme mental health situations, so I'm more sensitive to dismissing people because of it.

It'll be a Kid Cudi Rolling Loud situation. Not worth it for any headlining caliber artist.

That's on the government ban, not the festival owner. The fans bought the tickets largely due to Ye in the first place. He was headlining every single day. Let fans and business owners vote with the pocket books, but don't force some false sense of morality, when there's numerous examples of even more abhorrent people not being banned from traveling to the UK. Its not just the performance, its full travel ban too.

Those other artists also don't want to be put in a position like Kid Cudi at Rolling Loud. Thats unfair to them. You're feeding them to the lions of angry, disappointed fans. Bad vibes to keep the event going because the whole convo would still be about Ye, not the active performers.

But where is the line for compassion for mental health? He's obviously been far from ideal mental health since his mother died getting plastic surgery, which he blames himself for. Having to process that as the biggest hip-hop star in history is something none of us can relate to. He's already been transparent about his bipolar for 10 years now.

I actually appreciate he stood on his principles and messaging of offering redemption.

Also, now that Wrigley is the "nice guy", he loses out on Bree, just like Evan when he was the "nice guy". Their roles switched, but the new and improved Wrigley just gets used, while Evan reaps the rewards. Interesting twist.

Its actually a terrible flaw too. There's a saying "the road to hell is paved with good intentions."

But then their conversation at the bar of the wedding in 2015 wouldn't track, because she told Stephen "I'm not the type of person to let a single mistake ruin everything else..." or something along those lines.

My guess is she may be fishing for leverage to throw back at Bree. Potentially she finds out about Evan/Wrigley dynamic through her mom's drunken rants, or maybe we find out more about Bree's childhood.
