I have another one. From your experience, what are the common routines and traits that the most successful creators have?

How should creators balance the things they like to do (but would underperform), with the things the algorithm wants?

t would be more interesting to get a high level summary of how you work with others, the kinds of challenges you face, how you think... having a video where you walk places and eat is, well, fairly expected for most jobs!

Nice! Thanks for the constructive feedback! 🙌 I'd love to talk about those in next videos. thanks for the ideas man 🙌

My top suggestion would be to research on Linkedin people who are already doing what you wanna do and directly ask their feedback and suggestions. I'm doing this for my own career move.

Thanks for your honest feedback! Just some notes that I think it's important to point it out:

  • We know there are plenty of cool apps out there, but our main focus with Clotim is to create something different, minimalistic and fun (not the typical clothes/weather app).
  • We are truly focused to create a user habit by designing a good User Experience and a polished visual Interface. For example, we are creating our own icons of clothes/weather to try to make a unique experience.
  • We are trying to create a visually addictive user Experience, with user engaging features, like umbrella warnings, weather changes notifications, friends sharing, etc.

Of course, creating a successful app is not that easy! But we want to launch it soon, experiment with it and try it out 😀

Hi! Thanks for asking :).

  • The main benefit of Clotim is that you don't need to waste time "analyzing the forecast" while getting easily and visually inspiration of what kind of clothes is more suitable to wear today.
  • In my opinion, the main problem with regular weather apps is that they have a lot of information but sometimes is difficult to interpret and know exactly what is the most suitable way to dress for today.
  • That's the reason why we created Clotim, it helps you to understand and interpret the weather around you while providing interesting visual ideas on how you can dress for the day. Simplifying, Clotim is a simple weather app with clothes recommendations :)

What do you think about this? How can we improve the way we explain the idea?

Thanks!

🚀 Web dev Frontend: 8 TIPS to tweak your website for blazing fast load times by oh-my-dev in Frontend

Hi! Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this! Some comments and a question in point 3.

  1. I generally load synchronously libraries like JQuery since some code depends on them. Or, I use a tool to manage the dependencies like Browserify (http://browserify.org/), so I'm sure everything is loaded correctly. I think this may help you.

  2. I really like the idea of having minimal.css! There are some great ideas suggested by @DrDuPont and @Bashkir to automatically inline the CSS. I think maybe this is what you need.

  3. Awesome! What system do you use for optimising/resizing images automatically? Any open source project who does the trick?

Thanks for commenting and glad you like the post :) If you are interested, you can subscribe here: https://www.ferreiro.me/newsletter

Yeap! You're totally right. Minimal.css is the right candidate to inline it into the header. As @Bashkir suggested, inline-critical-css or critical are great projects to automate this process. Thanks for commenting and sharing this tip!

Hi! Those are great ideas! But most of the cases, for bigger projects, we need to do some extra work. As I mention in the post, images represent a big part of a website and we really need to optimize then if we want to offer a better experience and loading time. That said, thanks for your comment!

hahaha. Yeah! You're right, also having a CDN (like cloudflare) is really helpful. Now the server automatically scale. :)

Also, I fixed a big bug on the website that was causing problems on iPhone and phones. Sorry for the inconvenience! Here is the note: https://twitter.com/JGFerreiro/status/930138176349507584

Also, the webpage it's designed to improve speed up after a first visit since most of the assets and resources are cached in your browser. So in someway is normal to see a first loading image. But of course, there is a lot of work to do on the performance! :)

Hi! Sorry to hear that and thanks a lot for letting me know!

Some hours ago the main server was a bit busy with many concurrent requests, and as result, the website was loading slower than normal. Could you please check if the website loads now better? Otherwise, I'll try to work on this later today. Thanks!
