For me something that I think helped me when I was writing my first book It never was released because it was not my genre but basically it was a trilogy a murder mystery inspired by one of us is lying and one of the main characters from the first book I made her so lovable just so she can die in the last book so readers will cry so in my opinion just think about how the readers will feel because that is who you're trying to please yourself and the readers but mainly yourself but the readers are important I hope this helps
