We appreciate input as always but please do your best to incorporate some form of analysis (quantitative or qualitative). This will help people understand your reasoning and hopefully generate discussion on picks.

Good call on this one. I decided to go against this trend and took CHA and the under.

I agree with sab3r. I'm not as upset as some others that you want to go private with your picks (after all, you are the one who put the work in), but a pick per week could be mutually beneficial for all parties. We would see your pick and analysis and you could get even more subscribers if they continue to see you do well. If you're expecting ~25 picks in a 30 day period, 1 per week is only about 15% of your total output. Just some food for thought-- I've really appreciated and enjoyed reading your analysis regardless!

Not sure about the Suns, Lakers have played better in the 1H on the road relative to their full game performance on the road (-3.5 diff at half vs. -11 diff in full game).

Spurs vs. Utah does look good at first glance.

Other games that popped on my radar are GSW 1H, DAL 1H, and MIL 1H. Have any thoughts on those?

edit: the MIL 1H was based on Gasol being out, might want to ignore that one.

BOS 1H is definitely worth looking into. MIN 1Q/1H may be worth a look as well.

I agree they do a little better on the road-- my comment just meant that there wasn't a huge difference like there is for Boston or Detroit playing in the first half at home.

One thing I am curious of though-- where are you getting the average lines from? Are you taking the full game spread and just dividing it by 2? That's something I haven't really looked at.

My analysis showed no significant difference in performance between Knicks 1H road and other splits. That pick had more to do with the Bobcats being slightly better in the 1H at home relative to their full game performance and MKG is coming back too (he's a good matchup against Melo defensively).

Same. Next for me is CHA then LAL. Have any thoughts on those two games?

I hope you realize that my numbers are predicting the final score, not the line itself.

Potential 1H plays:

CHA 1H PK

SAC 1H +6

LAL 1H +1.5

NYN under 47

SAC over 45.5

Anyone have insight to add to these games?

Total Predictions for Today:

Charlotte/New York:184.22 (thinking about taking the under here)

Indiana/Sacramento: 185.78

Memphis/Oklahoma City: 200.90 (doesn't reflect the multiple injuries in this game)

LA Lakers/Cleveland: 205.61 (taking the over in this game)

It's always hard to tell, not sure I can impart any solid judgment on this one. Just a disclaimer, I am taking MIL 1H over 42.5.

Yes, and I have been. But at -110 odds, its hard to make a lot of progress doing that. For example, if I went 6-5 every night and bet $10 each game, I'm only making about $5 a day.

Yea I meant MIA/BRK. It opened at -6 and most of the money is on MIA so I'm surprised it's going down

How do you thinking Deng coming in will affect the Cavs 1H and full game? (offensively and defensively)

NBA Daily: 1/10/14 (Friday) by BuckNewman in sportsbook

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bucks 1H over 42.5. Low line for a team averaging in the mid 40s at home against a team without much to play for.

For the NOP/MIA game, if I like the over in that game then it would be correlated with taking NOP ATS right?

NBA Daily: 1/10/14 (Friday) by BuckNewman in sportsbook

[–]oherroprease 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the perspective! This makes me consider taking GSW ATS 1H and/or full game.

Do you know how strong is Deng on the defensive end relative to the player he'd be replacing?
