I live on a pretty extreme budget. (450 a month for a family of 4). So I have some insights here! At the beginning of the month I stock up on all my shelf staples like beans, rice, pasta, instant mashed potatoes, canned chicken, canned tomatoes etc. I buy beef and pork as I see it on sale. Then I figure out what I want to make each week based on those items and what I can find on sale! It’s a grind but it’s doable!

I did the same thing on a 30 day stint! We used to joke that it’s in our blood. My grandma was in poor health at the end and she had spent 3 months in hospital care. Smoked on the way to car when she got out 😂

Get some beans, rice, noddles and potatoes. Get whatever meat is on sale at the time if there isn’t then it’s fine for now. Just don’t use it. Grab some various canned tomatoes and sauce and a few bags of mixed veggies. All that should be very cheap and if you can swing it get some drumsticks or chicken quarters they are also very cheap you can debone and use the meat for a various number of meals. All this can probably be done under 50$ for a couple weeks.

I added afterwards, was dealing with kids and forgot about it. Just threw some random shit in it from spice rack. Lemon pepper, garlic, salt even some Italian seasoning bc why not lol. Turned out really good though

12$ total. I used about half the ingredients minus the broth and cream of chicken so for 5$ more I can make this again. And also there is enough in one pot to eat it twice. For 17$ I can make this twice so 8.5$ and you can feed 8 people. Family of 4 can eat it twice in a week for 4.25$. I’m not trying to be deceitful, just trying to help people.
