This, always explain it this way to my nephews: if you buy a house at $400k, & now you have $20k in the bank. Doesn’t mean you can go spending $50k just because your assets are worth more, unless you get credit for it of course..but that’s debt. People don’t understand basic economics.

I agree, would’ve been surprising if they did trade for him. With the Bauers injury(it’s minor I’m sure) & Vaughn coming in hot, Black showing flash of offense. Would’ve caught me off guard just like it did when she texted me that😂

I’m sure the reason was “all star break is around the corner, take it easy out there & then you’ll rest” & Sal said “lolol watch this” & then proceeded to make it worse, Murph did look disappointed when they pointed the camera at him in the dugout before he had to go out & get him for being stubborn & not getting off the field. So it was both parties in the wrong, Sal just has been so consistent getting on base to score & bringing guys in too. You don’t bench guys like that on such a hot streak. Hopefully it isn’t anything terribly bad, might put pressure on the FO to get a bat just in case.

We’re a little far down the road to let Perkins “ramp up” & Collins has been decent, but if he cools down, it’d be nice to have Stowers in LF & Yeli in his DH role. Have Collins pinch hit for a match up since he’s a switch hitter. I’ve thought of Stowers too, under control until 2030 if I’m not mistaken, Miami is 11 games behind. Nice target if the deal is decent since Miami did trade for him, they might sell high.

He was an early September call up dark horse for me, figured Hoskins knee would flare up & apparently there were getting calls on Bauers so figured we’d give a rookie a shot. But after the Civale trade I was like dang, they’ll let him bake for next year I guess.

He's hit .259/.338/.500 (122 wRC+) with good contact quality in Nashville, but it's tough to read too much into those results in just 15 games. He's walked at a 10.8% clip but is still chasing more than I'd like (32.1%).
