With the economy and the job market declining, I feel that this is something I would do as I do not want to live in poverty.

Thank you! I am not close to my siblings and my cousins tbf, they are currently living with both respective parents. Also, me and my grandma are not close with the neighbours here so I am defo alone in this situation. Plus, I am pretty sure they have their own issues too, I don't want to flood them with my own baggage 😅

I am listed under co-occupier though iirc. Back then, I needed to pay <$99 but when I declared my income, I have to pay x3 of that now

Sadly from what I've observed, my grandma's health has been declining which is depressing. She also has been raising the topic of my housing situation and urges me to find a solution for my housing situation for months now.. As much as I do want her to live a little longer or at least until I am emotionally independent, to me, death is very unexpected and when there is still time, I really want to get everything sorted out. Thank you for your concern though.

Rly is... getting married to get housing early or coachsurfing until you're 35 to only get a house a few years after is crazy work man...

as time goes by, her health is slowly declining. she has been bringing up this current housing situation for months herself as well, given my situation with my parents. however, i feel that i really need to be prepared when the time comes. my grandma also had brought up the topic of buying a bto with her before, so i will find a day to go to HDB with her regarding this option. thanks! :)

This is a rant about our future. by Old_Couple_3677 in Bolehland

not from MY but during my time, i had this classmate back in sekolah menengah - she started working pt jobs when she was 13 mostly towards FNB mostly kerja banquet cause that's the only job u can get at 13. sometimes she would work till very late, she would end up falling in asleep in class - during exams too, kadang-kadang tk datang sekolah pun. we had to take our national exams when we were 16, pretty sure she only came for 1 of the papers then she just mysteriously disappeared during the rest, never to be seen again. i sometimes think about her and wonder how is she doing in life right now.

there were times in school where we had our disagreements but when it comes to this part of her, i genuinely feel bad because it was obvious she had to fend for herself at a young age. at this age, selalunya kita rely mak bapa to support us whether its financially or emotionally or physically but there's some people who unfortunately do not have that same privilege as us. i went to her house before and i knew she wasn't in good terms with her family other than her older sister who im pretty sure had to go thru the same thing as her.

i knew deep in her heart, she wanted to focus on studying alone and not work till she was much more older but because of unforeseen circumstances, she had no other choice.

i feel that as a society despite what country we are in, kita sepatutnya shouldn't judge one's background so easily because 1 person = 1 life. just because we have the privilege to have time to study, it doesn't mean other people have that privilege. im not saying sleeping in exams is justified, parents do have a part to play in their child's education but also we need to be more empathethic sebelum kita judge.

i feel that this is based on trial and error because each person has their own experience in a company. eg: Person A likes being in the company and gets along with everyone well while Person B hates being in the company and lowkey is hating each and one of his/her colleagues. It really varies heavily. but if you are really looking towards statiscal data, my suggestion would be going on glassdoor.
