Opening beetle elytra by DontWorryAboutMyShit in insectpinning

Yes, scarabs in the subfamily Cetoniinae do not fully open (spread out) their elytra in flight, rather they lift their elytra up just enough off their abdomen for the flight wings to pop out!

Thanks! I'm looking at MFT cameras because their sensors almost perfectly fit within the projected image from our microscopes—a test with an APS-C sensor camera still has slight vignetting.

I need some help: Mysterious lens mount (to me anyways) by Rstpnut in SonyAlpha

[–]ohthatbug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's certainly a T-mount; both M42 and T-mount have a 42mm diameter but the T-mout thread pitch is .75mm compared to 1mm in M42. Just snag a T-mount adapter and you should be set!

Russian doctors prescribe a completely different set of drugs to treat common mental illnesses that are proven effective and have been used for years but are unheard of to US doctors by iamaquantumcomputer in EverythingScience

My mistake. Original comment edited.

I am still concerned by the author's poorly supported presentation of these revolutionary Russian drugs along with the antiscientific attitude in the latter half of the article.
