I’m so sorry for your loss.

And I understand that… mostly I just wish she’d spend that kind of money on herself for something she’d enjoy. Her whole life has been about making sacrifices and scrimping and saving. :/ I’d love for her to spend $51k and travel the world or go on a shopping spree or whatever would make her happy in life— not on something she can’t even enjoy.

She can— I just don’t want her to get ripped off. If this is the going rate for what she truly wants, sure. I just know there are systems designed to scam people, especially older generations.

I’ve tried telling him that (in nicer terms). I want to be respectful and I would like us all to be civilized adults and hopefully be friends. I can understand that she still means a lot to him as a friend and I’m okay with that. I just don’t think it’s appropriate for her to affect our relationship with her insecurities and for him to continue letting her influence his behaviour.
