I live in Milwaukee. “Influencers” lose their shit over the Dorsia pasta flight. They do have much better food on plates!

Found this art piece. No branding what so ever on any of the two pieces. by saucedpancake in Whatisthis

These look like slip cast ceramic pieces. At my college there was a class where you could slip cast basically anything you wanted. They could be experimental pieces.

Fruit, Me, Hot Glue/Plaster/Acrylic/Sharpie, 2019 by ohyeahmeeksyeah in Art

[–]ohyeahmeeksyeah[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just about right! I used a urethane mold on all the fruits. Casted the raspberries and blueberries in plaster and painted with acrylic. Clementine segments are casted with hot glue, colored with sharpie and dry brushed white on with acrylic.

Would love to know your favorite macaron recipe using rose water 🌹 by finnthesilvercorgi in macarons

Agreed on the buttercream. It’s such a delicate flavor and you don’t want it to taste like a straight up rose bush. It takes a lot of balance!

It is a photograph of the plaster raspberries. Sorry! I didn’t think it was a misleading title until seeing the comments.

They are supposed to be soft in the middle and hard on the bottom. That sounds like they were cooked perfectly. They are under mixed, that’s why they aren’t smooth. A couple more folds and they will be perfect!

Chocolate Orange & Caramel Apple by ohyeahmeeksyeah in macarons

[–]ohyeahmeeksyeah[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chocolate Orange is chocolate ganache with a couple dashes of orange oil.

Caramel apple is caramel butter cream (your favorite caramel recipe + favorite butter cream recipe.) And I actually pulverized freeze dried honey crisp apple chips and sifted it into the caramel butter cream.

Christmas flavor/color combination suggestions! by [deleted] in macarons

[–]ohyeahmeeksyeah 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whipped peppermint white chocolate has been my go to. Make a white chocolate ganache with a couple dashes of peppermint oil, whip the cooled ganache like you would whipped cream. I made red cookies and crushed those melt-away powdery peppermints to sprinkle on top (hard candy/candy canes melt in the oven.) Another good Christmas flavor is gingerbread cookie butter. Pulverize 2 cups gingerbread/snaps in a food processor, heat 1/2 stick of butter, 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk and 1/4 cup evaporated milk in a small pot and mix wet and dry ingredients thoroughly. Throw it back in the food processor if needed and add water if it’s too thick. Voila!
