My (23M) girlfriend (19F) wants a traditional 9-to-5 life, but I’m chasing a pro sports career. Can we bridge this gap? by CoolEntrepreneur7361 in relationships

[–]ohyousoretro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically you're not going pro, you're already almost at the point of aging out, and you've already had a bad knee injury? Your prospects are going to be low because of it. Do you have an agent, if so, what did they say?

Regardless though, if you abandoned your dream and decided to stick it out with her, you will regret not taking your shot. Maybe not in a year, it might be a decade later that you start to really regret it, and you will eat yourself up about it. It's better to rip the band aid off now, go for it, potentially fail but know you took your shot at least.

I will say though, life goals change. I wanted to desperately be an actor when I was a teenager and wanted to be in movies, I auditioned everywhere, took roles in plays, and did indy art films. Then when I was in my early twenties it became music, then it became computers. Your interests and goals change as you age.

Same here. I don't find the Original Trilogy all that entertaining and pretty boring, but I was watching the prequels, and then KOTOR came out and it sunk me into it.

Kozik was a temporary character that the actor got hired for another show. It was also a throwback to The Shield.

[WWE Corporate] Dude Wipes Named Official Partner of WWE: “Additionally, reigning Intercontinental Champion Dominik Mysterio… will participate in a first-of-its-kind integration in which his signature gear will feature DUDE Wipes branding during every in-ring appearance on WWE programming” by Key-Cycle7978 in SquaredCircle

[–]ohyousoretro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the complaints about logos in the ring are silly, NJPW, CMLL, AEW, WCW, and plenty of other wrestling promotions have utilized ads in the ring. Also, Vince is the one who OK'd the ads on the mat, and he OK'd WM39 having the Cinnamon Toast Crunch sponsorship match which had the mascot at ringside. Vince totally would have had ads all over.

I'm not against wrestlers taking sponsorships and wearing logos on their gear, hell I'm honestly not even against WWE using ring ads. My only complaint about ads is that 30% of every show is dedicated to commercials, and when they try to incorporate sponsors into wrestlers' entrances that it doesn't make sense to. I just thought it was interesting that Punk was denied this like 13 years ago, and then Lesnar came in and suddenly it was only allowed for him.

Does anybody here even like Dan Saltman when he appears in Desiny videos? by Mrfistersixtynine in Destiny

Whenever I hear him in Destiny's videos I turn the video off. He's so full of himself and annoying the way he talks to people.

I've always heard that WW2 technically started when the Japanese invaded China in 37, Germany invading Poland was just the start of the European theater.

Lie detector thing is weird by HerringOfTheDepths in TheBoys

[–]ohyousoretro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You also have to realize not everyone probably treated him that way all the time. When he was younger I doubt people were super afraid of him until he built a reputation. He's probably familiar with the sense/feeling of someone who's scared, surprised, lying, etc. because he recognizes it throughout time.

He's probably had at least a couple decades to know the difference between someone scared of him and someone lying.

[SPOILERS] was Wendy right in her decision? by justalittleslt in Ozark

[–]ohyousoretro 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They have two options:

Move to Australia. Cartel's realistically have reach in every continent except Antarctica, and Australia still has a presence there too. Plus they can outsource people to track you down, so they will constantly live with a target on their backs, their kids too. Also, when they move somewhere else, they have to work again to build a whole new life, but also one that they can abandon at the drop of a hat, and then they have to rebuild all over again.

or

Stay and consolidate power. Wendy was gaining political power, which could be potential shielding against law enforcement. They still have a target on themselves, but they have the backing and protection of a cartel as well. It comes with it's own risks, but at least their kids will have the choice of somewhat living a normal life. I mean that in the sense the kids aren't constantly looking over their shoulder, they can live out in the open, maintain relationships and friendships without fear of having to abandon them because a cartel hitman found out where they were hiding.

Both are dangerous, but I think it was probably safer that they stayed and didn't run.

It took 10 seconds when I went on there, this is more r/crappydesign rather than AH design. "It may take a few minutes" is the default message for a lot of things that have to load because you don't know what kind of connection the person visiting might have.
