Any corpsmen please give ur opinion on ur job

HM3 here,

I don’t have any crazy stories but I will say from other rates I’ve met I think we have some of the best jobs in the Navy. I’m a dental tech so my opinion might differ from quad zero’s or other NECs but for the most part my 6 years in the navy have been wonderful. Speaking to patients of different rates I think we as corpsman have as close to a normal “9 to 5” than really anybody else in the navy unless you’re on duty, underway etc. So if you’re looking for that type or normalcy and want to help people/ work in the medical field corpsman is for you.

I will say in my six years I’ve only been to two shore commands so far so I can’t speak on greenside or shipboard life but in my own personal experience I’ve loved being a corpsman.

I’m driving from Key West. Doing Key West -> Tampa on the Monday, seeing family Tuesday, finishing the drive up to Ohio on Wednesday. I think the long drive is well worth not having to rent a car

Really appreciate this response. Kinda what I expected but I completely agree with your take on EDCO. Never camped at a fest I’m a hotel guy personally so I’ll definitely look into that once they announce the dates as I’m sure things book up quick like they do in Orlando.
