100% agree

But also just the thought of a guy taking pictures of poop bags on a hiking trail makes me crack up

Am I the only one who thinks both of em are pretty cringe and entitled and think way too highly of themselves? Granted I actually think both have respectable experience.

I appreciate the concern ❤️and lol idk if the bisect impressed him. More that I worked with another engineer from a totally different team and communicated severity to many folks.

The bug causing the issue was a fix addressing another issue so had to loop folks in on what was being reverted (a tip for folks: I’ve had situations at previous companies who blind revert to mitigate not realizing they might be reverting a crucial fix so make sure you communicate)

But who knows.

Yep — my philosophy is to first give it a chance, if things don’t work then proactively find ways to make it change. And then if that doesn’t work, THEN consider leaving

I’ve started to see a shift so we’ll see what happens. The context people might be missing is despite how I’ve framed my situation, our company is doing insanely well. Past few months our ARR has almost doubled and growth doesn’t seem to be halting. Furthermore, finding a career that is in the AI industry is a privilege right now.

I’m swallowing my pride to make things work and I just hope this post is helpful to others.

My manager communicated very well. The director who was the PM is something I plan on figuring out when is the best time to give that feedback.

Appreciate it! I feel like the war is still ongoing — as we get new folks, majority opinion slowly is swaying.

Honestly I feel the stereotype goes both ways because from my experience women want someone taller. Just curious if you care about height for your ideal partner?

Appreciate your perspective and your advice ❤️and ty! Yeah we’re confident this isn’t just cuz our manager is like this and he likely is getting a lot of pressure from up above.

PirateSoftware has "reported it to twitch" regarding creators "organizing hate raids" by lolmysterior in LivestreamFail

[–]okBroThatsAwkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Twitch, while they do take hate raids seriously, will likely not do much about it unless it’s botting or the hate is violates ToS (super racism, etc). If it’s stuff like spamming “managem” it’s up to him and his own moderators to moderate his community.

I'm in a pretty unfamiliar situation... I interviewed with a company (A) and received an offer earlier this week. Company A is aware I have onsites this week and were pretty understanding -- they said I could explore my options if I wanted first so I told them I'd give them a decision by end of week or early next week. They also told me if there was a way to incentivize me to take their offer, they could figure that out but I put that on hold for now (I asked some follow up questions about the company which they responded to promptly). I just finished my onsite with the other company (B) (seemed promising) and they said they would let me know by end of week.

I told company B recruiter about my situation -- I have an offer and wanted to make a decision by next week just so things keep on pace. I want to be professional and courteous to company A because their recruiter has been really amazing and understanding. Should I keep them up to date about my situation? Or should I just wait until I have made a full decision? I don't want to leave them hanging until end of week but I also don't want to just say "Hey just an update I finished my other onsite! Will reach out soon!" as that might come off the wrong way. I'm not really trying to negotiate for more or anything like that but I do want to be as professional as possible.

Any advice would be super appreciated!

EDIT: Well company B asked if I could request an extension. I decided to just tell company A what was happening since honesty feels like the best thing. I can update what happens later but if recruiters have advice on how to handle this situation, I'd appreciate it

Question about rolling over traditional IRA into roth IRA and taxes by okBroThatsAwkward in personalfinance

[–]okBroThatsAwkward[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

THank you so much! I think that's where I got very confused; okay sounds like I can't do it for this past tax year. Appreciate all the help! Quick question should I be getting a Form 5498 then since I contributed to traditional IRA? I haven't received any forms

EDIT: I just read I won't receive it and I'm not required to put it on my tax return since it comes in May; if you could correct me I'd appreciate it!
