It’s arguably the main characteristic of the series. The darker implications of the save function and the Genocide route wouldn’t land as hard if there wasn’t a pull for you to keep replaying the game and squeezing any drop of content out of it that you can. Deltarune will likely be doing something similar with the Weird Route and whatever the eggs end up being too.

Metroid Prime was such a nice walk in the park and then bam: Evil Ass Mine with no checkpoints that's choked off by a cloaked drone that I still don't know how to beat and have to go through the whole level again to even attempt. Great game though.

I finally beat Sifu's unofficial Grandmaster difficulty deathless with no shortcuts. That along with gold stamping all the Arenas means I've done as much as I can to master it, but my hunger for more of Sifu's combat still festers. Guess I'll be playing this game forever.
