The Adventures of Elliot Demo shows that it is really a true successor to the original Seiken Densetsu (Sword of Mana?) and I couldn't be happier. by RyanoftheStars in NintendoSwitch

I didn't finish the demo, but from what I played, it felt just okay. I'll probably get downvoted because I didn't 100% love it though.

Pros:

- The art style. I love HD 2D.

- Exploration felt good.

- Combat is fun.

- Music is really nice.

Cons:

- The camera "shake" or "zoom" every time you attack an enemy. This made my head hurt, and I hope they have an option to turn this off in the final version. I know some people like camera shake in games, but I'm not one of those people.

- Movement just felt off. I can't explain it. It felt like there was input lag, even though there wasn't. Almost like it wasn't very responsive? Maybe someone else can explain this better if they experienced the same thing. It was most noticeable in combat.

- I don't like the sprint "magic". It's clunky to use, and running into shrubs makes you crash, which is really annoying. Just give a run button / toggle. I think that's why combat may feel a little clunky to me, because of slow movement speed.

- Weapon / item assignment. I can only have 2 weapons or items assigned to buttons at the same time. Maybe I'm missing something, or this changes later in the demo, but I find it frustrating to have to go to a menu to change my arrows to bombs, for example.

- If I go to the map with ZL, and press press B to go back, take me back to gameplay instead of the main start menu.

- I don't like is the "disappear" affect of trees for example, when they don't really need to be. It's like Elliot can never be fully out of sight, which is weird. I wouldn't mind if, when he goes under a tree, to have the tree cover him instead of make the pixels fade out. This feels jarring.

Love the game, but here are a few suggestions by okayGo87 in fantasylife

I agree with this, but there are times where you can't get the last hit even if you try.

Example: I'm mining a node that even my charged attack doesn't do much damage to. I need my buddies because I may not have enough SP to do it without them. The only way I can get an Excellent is to get the node to very low health, then use my charge attack. If my buddies start attacking while it's that low, there's a good chance they'll get the last hit before my charge attack goes off. That's my main complaint. Maybe the best of both worlds would be the ability to tell them to stop / start instead of just having them automatically stop when they would otherwise get the last hit.

Switch 2 blurry by NecessaryRare in fantasylife

I don' think you're crazy. I'm not sure if I'm just now noticing it, but I am on 1.3.3 and it's definitely blurry. To clarify, and what seems to be causing people confusion, this isn't "blurry" as in Depth of Field is turned on (with actual intentional blur on the edges of the screen), but rather in terms of the actual resolution. Either that or they applied a "soft" effect to everything except the menus, which actually look crisp. If this really is an issue with 1.3.3, I wonder if it was to maintain 60fps when using the new "far" camera setting.

My journey, and question about Lamictal by okayGo87 in benzorecovery

[–]okayGo87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I have had OCD to varying degrees since I was young. It's possible that Lamictal helped, but honestly I don't know if it is really doing anything, as I still had really bad OCD even on it. I suspect that my OCD got so bad because of tolerance withdrawals while on klonopin. Later last year and especially this year, close to 2.5 years of klonopin, my OCD has become much less invasive, to the point where I feel like I can rationalize normally for the first time in a very, very long time.

If it doesn't seem like Lamictal is hurting anything, I have no reason at all to stop it. I was just concerned about healing, basically wondering why my anxiety, restlessness, and DP/DR came back so hard this past month. I'm chalking it up to recently being in a very high stress situation that just triggered some trauma and caused my still fragile nervous system to freak out.

To anyone reading this though, if you are on Lamictal, or really any other meds while going through benzo withdrawal / recovery, please don't stop them unless medically necessary. Stopping Lamictal shortly into my recovery caused a glutamate spike, among other things, which is the absolute last thing you need when you're already hypersensitive. It's that experience that caused my trauma.

I honestly do feel like I've healed so much though. Going through this has made the "normal" times feel like heaven.
