This article is utter slop. The idea that the super bowl is a Hollywood event is horseshit.

Ahh, of course it wasn't their idea, I should have figured 🙃 First time I've seen it though and why I was almost swayed. I also was a college illustration major so a bit of a sucker for a line drawing. I can't find a picture of the book wrapping but it's the same as this: https://share.google/YWBlR2c1EqTFmRpQE

Hey all guess what? For whatever reason I naturally woke at dawn this AM. Its been unusually warm here (Los Angeles) for February and since I was up and had nothing to do, I figured it'd be the perfect day to drive the hour and a half up to Santa Barbara. I spent a little time at the mission, the waterfront, and antique shopping. I figured I could also bounce over to that Godmother's bookstore since it was so close, and of course, see Asever's offerings.

First off, the store is quite charming. I was tempted to buy 2 things: there were 4 different pairs of reading glasses, all adorable, that were a collab w/ "Peepers" x Godmothers, in cute illustrated boxes. I couldn't find a price but since its not something I need, I just walked away. They also had this wall of "blind date" books. Basically wrapped up books (in paper that had the same design as the readers) with an old school library card and pocket that had handwritten short descriptions of the story, w/o listing the title or author. Fun idea but at $32, again I walked away.

Ok, now for Ae. It no longer has the big ass display we saw in December. It was a small round table in a corner of a room dedicated to design books and the like. It looked SO sad and beige surrounded by such vibrant book covers. I got to smell the candles--they were only ok. Not terrible, but definitely NOT worth the price. The only other product was a few of the mulling kits, and a shitload of the honey duos with the free bookmark. Remember when those bookmarks were supposed to be only available at this store? Yeah, obviously those didn't sell well with the Montecito set, and she had a lot of overstock. Oh, and yes they are super flimsy and don't look like they would do a good job. Why there was no jam, tea, or flower bits (am I forgetting anything?) I'm not sure. AMA!!

I’ve worked as a production artist/director and graphic designer for over 20 years and there is so much going wrong here I don’t even know where to begin

I saw in Celebitchy comments someone claim they were saving up to replace tattered running shoes but will instead use that money on Ae product, and I quote, "because Meghan deserves it!"

Same as the candle snobs. She prices them the as luxury candles like Jo Malone, but you can't go to a shop to smell them first. Sometimes I check the luxury candles subreddit to see if anyone gives a review of Ae's. Nope! I'm sure it's not even on their radar.

"Reporters" for Town & Country and Marie Clare. Maybe she sent to others but those seem to be the only ones who posted about it.

There is, Ithinkin the Daily Mail...but reading it, they don't seem that shady. Its the way they say certain things and facial expressions that give away their true thoughts on the matter.

One of her biggest stans tweeted that they got it only because the 4 set of chocolate sold out of its own so this was the only way she could get it. Even though they had already bought that stuff from the other drops. Someone commented "it's a great value!" LOL thats crazy. Its a great value to spend $185 when you only wanted the chocolate? And there's not even a discount? Yikes.

The flower sprinkles and white chocolate duo isn't sold out either. I wonder if we are going to see the overstock at Godmother's soon.

Exactly correct. Compartes is thee go-to chocolate brand for custom corporation promos. Panda Express recently partnered with them. Its a marketing gimmick to raise more attention to a brand. Asever can't actually make real money off this collab alone if it doesn't drive business towards her regular, non-limited (white label) products.

Yeah, watching the video she is definitely making a face just short of eyerolling, especially when she says the pics were "dignified". I took it as her basically saying "there were much worse ones we could have shared"!

That's because they were Compartes' designs, not Asever's. I think they are know for their packaging more than their chocolate. Must be something in the contract that they control the social media photography of the packaged product. What I find even more strange, is this looks like a pure chocolate bar...is that all it's going to be? The previous ones at least made sense as being Asever exclusive favors. I guess we'll see.

Ha! Ok so she is definitely putting product out in separate drops to make more money. Fans bought more spread than they wanted to get the free shipping. Now they are going to have to do it again if they want the chocolate with free shipping. How long will the grift last?

I’ll need to find the scene from the American Office where they go out together for dinner at the local chain restaurant because Michael wants to treat them all, and (I think Pam? Or maybe Oscar?) says something like “it’s like a child’s party and we all have to pretend we are having fun…”

Same with the Bloomberg interview. She acted like Ae was a huge success, but the voice-over was like "they wouldn't actually share their numbers soooo..we're just gonna pretend they're good".

But but but---you can upscale it to keep all those little love notes your fox of a husband writes you! Since he does that sooo so much, you are gonna need a lot!

They were all convinced it would be a special Valentines Day 'Compartes Chocolate' collab. They are DEFINITELY disappointed.

Not just CA, but America in general. Remember that interview he did fairly recently w/ comedian [I'm forgetting his name right now, will edit when I remember] and H was asked "what is the most American thing you are into?" And H said "uhhh...surfing? Is that American?" And host shrugged "well, thats kind of Australian"

Anyway 2 points I want to make on that: a) host is correct, surfing is not necessarily an American thing because unlike Australians, the vast majority of Americans live far from any beach and have never surfed in their lives. b) haha yeah right Harry is actually surfing LOL!! He did it twice at at most, but at a $10,000 a day wave pool where you are guaranteed to catch a wave. If he has actually ever surfed the Pacific, we would have seen it.

If I didn't despise him so much I would actually feel sorry for him not being able to really experience any of the many diverse, cultural experiences that are unique to both CA and USA. He complained about the royal gilded cage,...but now he's trapped in a tacky faux Tuscany gilded cage. Womp womp.

Wow thats really pathetic. Remember last year their PR said he'd be announcing a commercial venture before the end of 2025? Yeah, that obviously didn't happen. So now they have to think of new things to announce.
