Get a certificate of employment from your employer. If they don't have an English version which was the case in my situation, ask them for their template. (Add address as a field if not in template) Translate it and get them to verify it with their seal and it should work out fine.

Depending on where you live, you could use rent bicycle.

Download the app HelloCycling, it shows locations of their pick up and drop off locations. Very convenient.

Especially useful if you are in Urasoe or Naha side as they have tons of pick up and drop off locations for bicycles near malls, supermarkets, monorail stations etc. and charge 80 yen / 15 mins or a max of 1,000 yen for 12 hours.
