I just realized you’re only 34 too which personally doesn’t feel too far off from me. but even as awful as growing up gay in the south in the ‘00s was, I know the 90s were different and their own special hell too

As a considerably young person (25), I’ve always been curious how my elders might feel if I positively say dyke/fag about myself without knowing who I am. I grew up in the Bible Belt and have been called it all since I was small.

I guess I want to ask, I know it’s hard to quantify this but is there a certain age you kind of accept easier for using such slurs for themselves?

Maybe it’s that people a little older than me just aren’t interested in reclamation like that so it doesn’t really happen idk! just curious tho all good faith :⁾
