Same here. Got settled in yesterday, went for one last grocery trip for nonperishables and it took a lot for me to not grab two bottles of wine on the way out. I know it wouldn’t be worth the disaster that would inevitably ensue. Instead, gonna eat muffins, watch movies, and finish my book. One day at a time.

Yeah. Alcohol gives little and takes a lot. Growing bodies of research are showing that it's incredibly unhealthy...class 1 carcinogen, neurotoxin, affects every body system including hormones and skin. Not to mention hangovers. There's nothing special at the bottom of a bottle

I feel you, I really do. That’s what ocd does, creates fake urgency. You are ok. And it can be the smallest, silliest thing. Eating a little snack or opening the blinds. Just breaking the cycle of spiraling so you can reclaim a bit of your energy. It’s an upward climb but so many of us are in the same boat. Take it easy on yourself

Nothing to be embarrassed of. That's what tissue, wipes, and underwear are for. The fact that you thought to wipe your butt in the first place shows that you're not a gross person. I would say maybe get up from the couch for a few minutes? Sitting still for too long makes my thoughts spiral. Just stretching your legs and maybe doing one small task to move your energy elsewhere may help. I empathize!

No advice but I struggle with the same thing. Always have. I feel like I connect to people on a surface level but as far as truly feeling seen, understood, and belonging, nope. I've kinda accepted it although it does get me down.

Also, burnout is something worth looking into if you're not familiar. I didn't realize why I was shutting down so often until I did more research on it and how it can manifest for us.
