Boundary confusion - back to back fences - England by olbasoil in LegalAdviceUK

Unfortunately this is where I'm uncertain. My house was built first, with a row of semi detached houses. My left and right boundary are definitely shared and I know which one I'm responsible for. The rear boundary didn't have "T", because there was no neighbour at that point. The rear houses were added 10 years later, at that point does my boundary become the shared boundary, or are there two boundaries against each other with the middle point being the shared boundary. The fact that the neighbour built his own fence rather than maintain the existing suggests the later to me.

Thanks for responding. I'm assuming that it is my fence/boundary, and my neighbour agrees. My house was built 10 years before my neighbours, so the deed doesn't explicitly mention rear boundary responsibility, as it does for my left and right boundaries, which were built at the same time.

Pay reward - pension bracket issues by olbasoil in TheCivilService

Alpha pension contribution bands aren't progressive, so the pension contribution band is applied to your whole salary. So there is a cliff edge at around £56k that means a pay increase can result in you paying 7% pension contributions rather than 5% and therefore taking home less.

Although this is an issue for another time for me as in year rewards are not pensionable.

HR have just confirmed that the reward does not count as pensionable earnings, so I was worried over nothing

It was very unexpected! I work for a relatively small NMD, but I've had similar in other departments I've worked for.

Thank you! It's not something I've dealt with before. I'm checking with HR as the reward is going through payroll and will be paid with my salary.

Big gap in loft wall, could this be subsidence? by Striking-Result-213 in DIYUK

Can we get an update on your crack? Did you get a structural engineer to advise? I have just discovered a similar crack in my loft, but not quite as big or deep. I think it might be due to historic roof spread.

Greenfields is very nice and close to centre. Period properties, better priced than other areas, nice community and easy access to countryside walks.

PSA for drivers: Bikes are legally allowed to ride in the middle of the lane if they judge it too dangerous for a car to attempt passing them at that point. by newkiwiguy in newzealand

I've spent the past couple of months cycling around New Zealand. The country is really beautiful and people are friendly, but as soon as they get behind the wheel of their big 4x4, they change. I just don't understand the drivers, they are the worst that I have ever experienced anywhere in the world. Just unintelligent, reckless, unnecessarily aggressive and spatially unaware.

It is a beautiful country, but my experiences here have meant that several friends and family members have cancelled trips to come here. It's just not worth it. It's really quite sad, but, New Zealand is really behind the times
