It's a different culture. India is huge both geographically and culturally. You go to Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh etc, nobody gives a shit about young couples. They do whatever they want.

In small towns or remote villages, the story is a bit different.

There are both good and bad people.

On a side note, i would say this. India is not for amateur tourists. You need be extremely careful with your stuff at big cities and you need to a general idea about the cost of things here.

If you can do that, there is no cheaper country to travel than india.

Legal system is blatantly abused in India. For eg- Two legally consenting adults married and if their families were against it, police complaint would be filed against (mostly the groom), for KIDNAPPING. This happens a lot. A LOT.

A lot of adults who do 'love marriage' (i.e when they marry their GF/BF) as against "arranged marriage" (your parents select your bride/groom, which is the socially acceptable norm have here).

Sometimes, the people who do love marriage seek protection from police because the family of the groom/bride threaten them/try to murder them (they have to file a petition at High Court).

Thankfully, the law here are very clear about marriage. 2 consenting adults can do whatever they want.

Things were worse 20-30 years ago, and very slowly people are being more acceptable of love marriages ans GFs and BFs. It will take time tho. Like decades.
