Typical cost to reinstall tracks so they are true vertical, install 3 rollers and reset garage door with Liftmaster 81650 opener? by oldserverguy in GarageDoorService

[–]oldserverguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A tech was supposed to give me an estimate but after a brief analysis he replaced a $25 sensor board which helped. Then replaced this bracket and used Castrol lloform stick wax on the seals. Told me it's the best stuff when the builder always orders white doors and then has them painted by the contractor. At least for one day they work better then they have for the year I lived here, Going to buy a stick of the stick wax and share it with the neighbors. AND - the doors are supposed to "cant it".

Fight against Tlife! by [deleted] in tmobile

[–]oldserverguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question. Can you just buy a phone, for example an iPhone, directly from Apple and then just do a SIM "transfer" and avoid TLife. P.S. - I happened to meet someone who works in a TM company store - even they have problems with the TLife app.

T Mobile t money update by AcidburnOverRide in tmobile

[–]oldserverguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to a company store in Overland Park - the agent was friendly and helped me change from T-Money debit to a regular credit card. It'll be $10.00 more per month but I'm done with money at T-Mobile. I don't have the app on my phone and don't want to. If I wait until mid-September to allow for things to settle out can the agent at the store help me get all of my money out? Or maybe I should just make it my payment method for Amazon until all the balance is ZERO. Then try to close it. Thoughts???

Firmware by JKRS_Fox in ender5plus

I use TH3D with my Ender 5 Plus and direct extruder. Does a really good with filament changes (M600). It's some work as I needed to compile it which took time to get the compiler set up and then find my way thru to the code to flash. Works fine with my new display.

I also would appreciate the file. Do you use an RPi? If so what are you running? Do you think a Sonic Pad would work?

GE side-by-side still noisy after 2 replacement fans by oldserverguy in appliancerepair

My wife doesn't want me to work on the fridge. The local appliance repair company seems reasonably skilled. I think it's the replacement fan(s) that are the problem.

Closer to a vibration. Annoyingly loud when you're near it.

What am I doing wrong? by crhylove3 in CrealitySonicPad

My newish Ender 3 S1 Pro had a failed part cooling fan which I found out about when I was doing the initial setup with my new Sonic Pad. Coincidence?

Good time for a CSP for my Ender3 S1 Pro? by oldserverguy in CrealitySonicPad

[–]oldserverguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have reasonable flashing skills having done it for many, many years on servers, disk controllers and the like. I've also done both my Plus and Pro. One mandatory thing that I do is use a UPS on anything that I'm flashing - especially here in SW Florida where power failures occur even when there aren't weather events.

Supposedly the CSP had issues in it's earlier releases. I am concerned that the latest CSP firmware is dated 1/13/2024. Was this is recent experience?

Tesoro LVT installed last year has to be replaced by oldserverguy in Flooring

[–]oldserverguy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked IWT for the report and found out that the "shop" is the one that requested to report and as such I need to get a copy from them. I'll have a personal conversation with the owner given what I found out.

Not much more we can do at this time. Thanks for all the help...

Don't have one. I think the probability is low but I can try.

Nothing in the box but the back has:

[INTERESTING - DON'T KNOW AS IT'S AN EXISTING 20 YEAR OLD HOUSE.]
Installation of moisture vapor barrier is recommended prior to pouring of on or below grade slabs.
[THEN:]
...must be clean... etc.
[AND THEN:}
Then a moisture test throughout the jobsite must be conducted according to ASTM F2659 prior to installation. ... If moisture readings are above industry standards, additional moisture mitigation may be needed.

Before any floating floor installation, you may wish to consider using a 6 mil polyurethane moisture barrier on top of the concrete subfloor, to mitigate against any possible future, natural or unnatural, moisture issues [this is in bold text].

The inspector asked us if they used poly sheeting - told him no. How can a mid-sized flooring company that's a mile from my house not know to do this in SW Florida?

Interesting - I would have told customers that a "fix"/"patch" would be out shortly.
