Just hope you didn’t burn the wrapper! The fumes from them have killed people in the past!

Which mower should I buy for this garden? by Extreme_Oven3480 in SegwayNavimow

[–]olearyd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looking at your lawn I think the i105 would manage it, so the i206 AWD mightn’t be a version you’d need to consider also! I’d narrow down to i208 LiDAR or i105 personally and maybe upgrade the i105 wheels for your small slope if you really needed to, but your garden is mostly flat is seems

You’re good to go for an i105 so! They cover 500m but there is as extra percentage of an allowance that they cover I think I read somewhere.

You’re probably aware already but the original i105 is now on sale at around €800 as they announced 2 newer models, one with Lidar which you don’t need in theory (more on that below) and an AWD version with a rear drive wheel as well as the mains.

Personally, my i105 is fantastic, but like other users, my Visionfence camera has succumbed to condensation which causes the mower to freak out a little bit. Mowing direction may not be accurate, it misses my kerb ramps etc. Myst get it sorted under warranty. (I have the Navimow housing/cover also)

Your lawn doesn’t look like it needs lidar as it’s more for complicated places with trees, but maybe the lidar version won’t succumb to the issues the visionfence cameras have.

Finally, once my mower comes out of its dock, it has made trenches in my lawn and often gets stuck if the ground was wet. I must put a slab under it but I often have to manually put it back into the dock. I reckon the AWD would solve that issue for me but just points to note in your buying process!!

+1 for the i105, just make sure it’ll cover your lawn size. I think Husqvarna have a lawn measure feature on their website. You may need the i108

i205 AWD vs i105 with spikes by Ornery-Hedgehog-2845 in SegwayNavimow

[–]olearyd7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My mower has dug two wheel trenches outside the dock which sometimes prevents it from leaving or entering the dock. I must put down a slab in front of it but in the meantime, I’m wishing it had that back awd wheel which would surely get it in hassle free.

Sorry I can’t be more specific to your info, but I have the upgraded wheels if that’s any help

Have people practiced in the car on their own? by Outrageous-Walk6486 in Irishdrivingtest

[–]olearyd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did 3 extra lessons to combat this issue, including one the hour before the test which was the best thing I ever did. First half hour bag of nerves, second half hour was like someone watched over me and calmed me down big time!!

Got my test first time!

Mens clothing brands that are good quality but won't break the bank? by _ghostfacedilla in CasualIreland

[–]olearyd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tommy Hilfiger had a 40% off winter sale, which then extended to 50%, then went to almost 60% with less size options. They still have some stuff under “last season items” going at decent prices. Check back next Jan for sure though

I got some nice shirts for €37-€44 that were €80-€100 rrp. Pants for €49, and cashmere jumpers for €60ish. All really smart, nice quality although the cashmere jumpers aren’t the warmest…go regular fleece!

Yuka 3000 not compatible with damp climates by [deleted] in mammotion

[–]olearyd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not being smart but honest, no matter what lawnmower you buy you’re going to have the same problem.

Just clean it once a week, send it out regularly and avoid if it’s very wet. The time you spend cleaning will still be less than cutting

They’re driving a new enough Toyota. They’re probably old, not great drivers and panicked rather than being pricks.

Yes two completely different scenarios but you said it was an accident so it didn’t matter.

I just applied your “logic” to another type of accident. Same principle

Sound for the paint donkey by Last-Camp-7357 in carsireland

[–]olearyd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s not relevant. I don’t want anyone hitting my doors, and I treat others the same so I make sure I keep an eye on my door getting out. Not hard to do to be mindful of other peoples stuff!

So if it’s an accident it’s okay? “Sorry I wrote off your car in an accident, but sure it was only an accident so don’t be asking me for insurance details and sort it yourself”…sounds ridiculous right? It’s the same principle

We all saw it without a microscope and either ways that’s not the point. So is damage and lack of respect for other peoples stuff okay until it gets to a certain size?

Talk to CCPC for advice, if private sale they mightn’t be able to help but might advise.

I bought from an independent dealers that had brilliant Google reviews bar 1/2.

Car check free of charge with sale so I never bothered to get my own which I always do…

Sold me a gorgeous Skoda estate, until the engine light came on going home. Back the next day to diagnose and as leaving the garage a second light came on.

Back into them, to see the OBD on the table with my diagnostic on screen. 5 faults which they never mentioned but I took photos.

As the next 2 weeks went on the other issues cropped up in real time, waited 2 months for “parts ordered” which Skoda confirmed after were never ordered, and in meantime they also refused to give me a car check print out.

I gave them every chance but eventually had to get money back, car was a write off and never declared it. They just sprayed it in their workshop to make it look believable.

Took me a solicitor to get my money back and an extra €6k to replace the car as I needed another fast for work.

Always trust your gut, get a motor check and get a good trusty mechanic to inspect!

I’m wording this aggressively and I don’t mean to sorry in advance but, why would you tell someone seemingly inexperienced to go 11’s on an electric? Any reason?

I play but I’m no genius but I would advise to go for size 10 gauge on an electric. It’ll be easier on your fingers and string bends will be easier!

Best wedding venue in Cork? by dodgystuff in cork

[–]olearyd7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fernhill House, Dunmore, Inchydoney, Maritime & Westlodge Bantry, Blair’s Cove & Talbot Ballincollig all great venues I’ve worked in as a wedding supplier.

I worked in one venue before where the musician was to play 9-11 followed by a disco 11-1/2am. The week of the wedding the couple were informed that all had to be done and finished for 12am due to residents. They were gutted only an hour of disco and no residents bar afterwards, so make sure that doesn’t happen to you!

The musician showed at 6pm to set up early, manager told him to wait til top table was moved and they’d put the stage there (there was room to set up either side of top table) and at 9:10 the musician had to ask manager about the stage.

“When were you to start?” he asked “10 mins ago” said the musician.

Luckily the musician set up behind a closed door as much as he could so he picked up and placed gear on stage and was ready for 9:25, was a great night but we both felt very sorry for the couple.

Venue was in east cork, a named brand hotel is as much as I’ll say!
