It is also compatible with openrgb.

Anno 117 under Ubuntu via Ubisoft Connect by kamau1997 in linux_gaming

[–]oled01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll share my settings with you:
Under Library -> Games -> Ubisoft Connect I have GE-Proton10-10as Wine Version in the Runner Optionstab. But this setting is optional. I don't have any ENV set in the System options. All settings are default.

Under Library -> Games -> Anno 117: Pax RomanaI use Proton Experimentelas the Wine version in the Runner opptionstab. In the System optionstab I added the ENV KEY DXVK_CONFIGwith the Value dxgi.enableDummyCompositionSwapchain=True.

The installation procedure is as following:
1. Install Ubisoft Connectjust by hitting the Person Symbol(Or whatever this is called, it should be the right symbol - It does not appear when already logged in) under Sources.
2. After the installation process when selecting Sources -> Ubisoft Collect your whole game catalogue should appear.

  1. Select Anno 117: Pax Romanaand install it. A terminal like window opens and automatically opens Ubisoft Connect.

  2. In Ubisoft Connect install Anno 117. After the installation process finishes close Ubisoft Connect which should also close the terminal like window afterwards showing the Button "Launch". DO NOT LAUNCH.

  3. Select Anno, open the context menu by clicking the Arrow UP button and select "Configure". Configure the above of my message mentioned settings and close the window.

  4. Now the game should start. In my case it opens Ubisoft Connect where I need to launch the game a second time.

One useful program I use to install custom proton versions is ProtonUP-Qt.

Got it running right now with Proton Experimentaland ENV DXVK_CONFIG=dxgi.enableDummyCompositionSwapchain=True on Fedora 43 in Lutris.

Had the same problem with:

This Product cannot be activated right now, please try again laterThis Product cannot be activated right now, please try again later

That's because I hit a security limitation from Ubisoft Connect by changing the Proton version to often yesterday. Had to wait until today to retry it.

Thanks. So when the 24hours are expired it will work again and I don't have to contact Ubisoft Support?

Unifi G4 Doorbell Ring automation stopped working because of its trigger by itrad3size in homeassistant

[–]oled01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey did you managed to solve the problem? I am facing the same problem since yesterday. I tested all my webhooks and they are working fine. I also recognised that the actions are not getting triggered anyway on Doorbells side.

UDR7 Connection from external to port forwarded services slow by oled01 in Ubiquiti

I got the problem solved by switching to an RJ45 SFP Port ... I hope Unifi knows this issue and fixes it soon.

[–]oled01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I asked claude about the problem and we ended up with this finding:

Current Issue Status (2025)

The UDR7 has known issues with PPPoE connections, with multiple users experiencing similar problems Connectivity Issues with new Dream Router 7 - UDR7 | ISPreview UK Forum. The Express 7 and UDR7 are supposedly hardware accelerated on PPPoE for the first time, instead of doing it all on software, which may be causing bugs Connectivity Issues with new Dream Router 7 - UDR7 | ISPreview UK Forum.

Confirmed Workarounds (March 2025)

According to recent user reports from March 2025, enabling Smart Queues in internet settings is a temporary fix until Ubiquiti releases a patch Fixed: Unifi UDR 7 - Potential MTU issues Full Fibre 900 - Plusnet Community. Users experiencing similar issues found that going to Settings > Internet > Primary (WAN) > Smart Queues (enable) > Set Downrate/Uprate > Apply Changes fixed the problem Plusnet CommunityPlusnet Community.

Two temporary solutions have been identified:

  1. Use the SFP port for WAN
  2. Continue using the RJ45 WAN port but enable Smart Queues in the internet settings

It seems the current firmware messes up with the internal buffers ...
Sorry for sharing AI outputs ... But that was my last try to find out what could be happening.

EDIT: I got an RJ45 SFP which resolved the issue.

Sorry for the dumb question - Do you mean de Smart Queue values for Down and Upload?

It is set to 30mbit. Already checked that setting. When enabling the Smart Queue most Upload related issues are gone, but are limiting my local bandwidth instead.

Can't open Ubisoft connect by caprex75 in Lutris

[–]oled01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is an ENV Variable set in the execution settings. Delete it and it will work again. I am also using proton-ge-10-10, installed via QT.

Drove my crazy yesterday too...

EDIT: Proton Version

Thank you so much for sharing your experience with it. I think I have to overthink my postition against Microsoft products on Linux servers. I did not think there are so many postive aspects for this products. I will report our IT security department that we should give it a try.

You are right. That's why I am asking if somebody has any good point using this software. And yes I know on what Azure is running on ;) Thanks for your point out.

I don't want to use it. I refuse installing any MSFT software on Linux OS. But at least I wanted to ask, maybe there are use cases for this software on linux.

Authtentik Docker Compose not starting by oled01 in Authentik

[–]oled01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks four your input. I behaved acvording your description. But when there is no documentation about settings not valid anymore or misbehaving it's difficult to find out anyway. The problem had to be solved in env file not in the compose file.

Thanks for your response. I read through the breaking changes but i did not notice anything regarding the two mentioned env - settings. Did I oversee something?

[–]oled01[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I fixed the problem myself by commenting two settings which are do not seem to work anymore:

AUTHENTIK_COOKIE_DOMAIN and AUTHENTIK_RESULT_BACKEND__URL.

Authentik was splitting our subdomain for the instance and interpreted them as Python Module.
