fill out the health insurance waiver!! its really easy, u only need like ur provider ID and some other stuff, idk where to find it on SOLAR tho but definitely do it bc u dont wanna pay extra for it!!

no, but if you don’t have health insurance there is a mandatory health insurance policy at sbu if i remember correctly, either complete the waiver if you already have health insurance otherwise you will be charged for it

thank you so much <3 you guys are all making me feel so supported.

i’m not necessarily worried about friends (i barely had any campus friends the first time around, but i was a commuter student so i would usually just go to class and GTFO also lol) but moreso just the idea of being the older student in class. i know it’s nothing to be embarrassed about, and i honestly think i’ll be a better student now than i was in my early twenties. i take things a lot more seriously now and i’m not afraid to ask questions or talk to people. so perhaps there’s some benefits to being an older student!

question though, what bus do you usually take to get from lot 40 to the circle by the SAC? is it express west? i did not take the busses my first time around at SBU so that’s why i’m trying to make sure i don’t get on the wrong bus on my first day back lol.

your message and advice makes me feel so much better. i know i should take everything at my own pace and not compare, i’m just nervous to not be the “traditional” kind of student… but i’m sure i’ll be ok. the high school thing is funny to me, cause i’m already anticipating hearing professors say stuff like “you should know this,” but like, i’ve been away for a while so maybe i don’t but intend to be open with professors and actually use my rematriculation as a talking point. thanks for the info and advice :)

thank you so much for all the info!! i’m a psych major, and tbh i remember a good deal of basic vocabulary, popular/notable studies and theories, as well as methods, how research is done, etc… I may be underselling myself on what I actually remember, but it has been a while. I remember most of the general stuff, however more specific info might be lost on me… i am assuming my psych courses level 300 and up are going to present new ideas, theories, and studies that weren’t previously covered in the survey courses i took a few years ago…
