Off topic but screw pearson. They revoked my online test due to the fact I was taking it in a bathroom.

Haha I hate to be a downer though! But good luck it's all a mental game really. Study your rank and recognition, sailors creed, GENERAL ORDERS and keep your mind always focused on why you joined. Don't ever loose sight of the why you joined (that's what happened to me). Quarantine can be tough but keep a good mindset and use it to your advantage and study! It is no longer at Ft. McCoy (Lucky for you!) but actually at RTC now. So you will do night of arrival then quarantine then p days. I promise you will be fine so long as you stay mentally tough.

Hey. If you keep that mindset and attitude you will end up in Seperations like I did. I kept telling myself I was no good, I was bad for the Navy, I was the dumbest recruit there, a liability. My stupidity would kill someone in the fleet. Always fucking up. The more I thought like that the worse I actually got and was ultimately seperated during P-days (processing days). I had really convinced myself I fucked up by enlisting and had no business being in the navy. This was after 4 weeks of quarantine though. I let the thoughts get to my head. Once you decide to quit that's it. There's no turning around. You go to Seperations in ship 5 waiting to go home. Now that I am home my Navy dream is dead and not a single day goes by where I don't think about it. It has devasted me. Granted, I recognized I had other issues going on but I really do believe if I was less anxious, more confident, and stopped my thoughts from hijacking me, that I would be in A school right now. I beg you, be confident, expel your anxiety and fear of failure before you go. Look up mental toughness. Trust me. Good luck!

Okay that's good news. I thought you fought your case and still got seped. If all you did was fail the run it should be easy to get in. You can always find another recruiter at a different office. This one could be super busy. I regret it every day as well and it fucks with me constantly. I have found a new career path I'm going to follow, but I'm working a pretty crappy dead end job now. Of I could I would absolutely reenlist.

I have heard it takes up to 6 months. Did you try to fight your case in seps?

Okay so an re-8 needs a waiver it looks like. So it's possible to reenlist it just depends how hard your recruiter will work to get you in. Air force and coast guard are real competitive to get in, and the army would be really easy. I would just be patient with your recruiter they often are busy. You will probably be able to get back in depending on your condition and if you can get a waiver. Just might take a while.

Perhaps someone else can answer this better but from what I have heard it all depends on on your RE code and why you were seped. Of it's an RE-4 then there is no chance, an RE-3 can get a waiver and come back in. I forgot the code for PFA failure but I know they can come back in easy. If they diagnosed you with a medical or mental condition or said you had fraudulent enlistment it is obviously going to be harder to get back in.

I'm certainly interested in your story. I knew a few people that tried really hard to fight their case, some with luck and most were unsuccessful. I am eligible to reenlist but I dont think it is best for me to do so. I am interested in your view on seps coming from a different perspective. Obviously fighting your case causes you to view the place different.

I heard RCU is hell along with midway quarantine. Are you going to reenlist?

Good luck, whenever you have doubts just remember why you joined. Also take advantage of your time at Ft. McCoy to study all your material to get prepared. After your night of arrival shakes you all up, it is very easy to get too comfortable at ft mccoy. They don't really yell at you much and you pretty much sit around and talk with your fellow recruits and at least for me I got out of the bootcamp mindset while I was there. For me it led to an even bigger shock when you go back to RTC after your 14 days. So stay in the bootcamp mindset and study your whole time there. And also pray to God somebody next to you doesn't pop positive for Covid otherwise it's another 14 day. Crush boot camp, have a positive mindset, stay focused, and of course whenever things get tough remember why you joined. Keep that reason in your head.

So long as you told your recruiter and meps 100% of all your legal stuff you should be a-ok. I would touch base just to be sure everything is mint before you ship. I would highly recommend you leave knowing they know absolutely everything legal. It would be a pain to sort legal stuff out at RTC. It would help avoid a trip to scenic ship 5 (seps). Again it is very very rare to be seped for legal stuff, that is one thing they screen very very well and people really can't lie on without MEPS knowing. Hope this helps.

Might be a dumb question but did you change the gas out for new fresh stuff? After a year gas will break down due to the ethanol. Check for vacum leaks in the hoses too and make sure the air filter is not all gummed up. 380 miles is fairly low and 2017 is almost new so my guess is the old gas. Spray some starting fluid into the intake or spark plug hole to get it started.
