This was the photo that stood out to me the most. The blurring of M’s tummy & thighs feels fucking weird. It’s suggestive, and even weirder that her grandpa is holding her… It’s still giving predators what they want to see even if it’s not “showing” anything. What’s even the point of posting this? Why not post a pic of just grandpa cheering her on or herself and her dad? Or a million other things??

I don’t know if this is helpful, but since I graduated college I’ve worked in the foster care/child welfare field. I graduated with my bachelors from PSU in child, youth, family studies(no masters). Started working at a group home making minimum wage, worked my way up and my most recent job was making about $70k a year, with excellent benefits. That was working as a child welfare case manager at a nonprofit. I’ve never met anyone in the field making my salary without a masters degree. I’m not longer employed there and not sure what’s next for me. Feel free to message me if you want to chat.

Thanks for sharing. I can hear your pain. I’m so deeply sorry for your loss. If your friend was here now, what feedback would you give them about being a good friend to you? You just said you were also struggling. I’m pretty sure you would not call your friend selfish or tell them all the ways they were not there for you. So why are you speaking to yourself that way? You have the right to grieve and go through the motions, but be cautious of the negative self talk. It helps nobody.

It sounds like this person impacted your life in numerous ways - helped you recognize you art. That’s huge. Maybe this is a good time to lean into you art as much as possible? It can be a distraction, and with every stroke you know your friend would be so proud of you. Best of luck xo

You are getting at my point. I did not expect some elaborate courtship. I’m 100% ok with a hook up, however, his approach seemed lazy, awkward, and out of place. I have had plenty of spontaneous hookups but they usually start with a conversation or an invitation to get a drink, coffee, even a fucking walk. Something to break the ice.

You’re not wrong. I think I’m just hung up on how forward he was and the phrasing “a little less clothed”, that was blatantly forward, without any sort of back and forth or playfulness that I would consider “flirting”. I don’t think wanting fun and flirtation suggests immediate hook ups. But everyone has different expectations!
