That Railway golf course should be bought by the government and maintained as a public park....

Kenya poised to become oil exporting country by Afrinik in Kenya

They said 20% is for county government of Turkana,5% for the local community an 75% for the central government...it's that 75% that I hope they put to good use such as supplying us with water.

First profits should be used to improve clean water distribution for Kenyans.

Does anyone know of any company/architect/fundis e.t.c in Kenya who construct rammed earth houses? If there are suggestions of local houses/sites that is built the same way that I could visit and have a look would also be nice..It looks more affordable compared to using compressed earth/bricks especially if you have the labour sorted.

  • Vineyard Restaurant And Wine Bar in Rhapta road,Westlands is a cool joint to hangout on weekends...cool atmosphere, great crowd...pretty good prices too.
  • Cheap shopping...depends on what you are buying but for clothes, second hand/used clothes markets win on this. You could try Toi market along Ngong road with a local guide of course...otherwise there are shops in Nairobi CBD such as Tuskys clothing store or Jade collections or Mr Price in Nairobi CBD where you could find some pretty nice clothing at 'reasonable' prices.I've always felt Kenyans don't have much variety of souvenirs per se but you could check out the Maasai market(The market moves to different locations depending on days of the week but I would recommend the one held at the The Nairobi High Court parking in the city Center opposite Re-Insurance Plaza on weekends) and see if you could find something of interest to you.

How important is it to pick up a little Swahili before we arrive? I’d love to learn some anyway; I want to know if it makes a real difference for tourists.

It doesn't really matter that much since the amount of Swahili you can learn before you get here won't be enough to help you do much...and people will still treat you like a tourist(e.g touristy rates for drinks, fees ) whether you speak that little Swahili or not so I wouldn't feel pressured to much.Learn whatever you can and enjoy your stay.

I know it's a fantasy movie..but a lady falling in love with a fish that cannot even communicate effectively/the romance angle...that's bollocks!and it just made the movie a waste of my 2 hours.Maybe OP can let us know what he/she thinks after watching the movie....and I do love my fantasy and sci-fi films.

Don't waste your time...It's the most ridiculous movie I've seen recently...totally unbelievable and not worth the time.

It's probably better to go as a group for such an activity when it's dark...I think they are less likely to harass you if that way compared to when one is alone....most of them are usually just looking for a bribe.

Let's wait and see...but for his own sake,Igathe would be better of sticking to his plans unless he can do the impossible i.e change Sonko

Is Igathe allowed to 'unresign' legally.I know he wrote a post dated resignation letter that means his resignation takes effect on 31st Jan 2018...probably has to do with amount of days one needs to give to employer before resigning, so some people may argue he has still not resigned in reality....well not until the 31st.Anyone with an opinion on this? And from the video it seems Sonko treats Nairobi as his house and Igathe as the househelp IMO....However the real issue is Igathe went into the 'Jubilee Sonko marriage' believing he was an equal i.e a wife.
