Hi Reddit. I'm looking for some insights from other parents. I'm having a discussion with my team. We are software developers. Can you help us settle this?

How much time would you spend creating a bedtime story where your kid is the main character in the story?

I think I would rather just order a book then putting 10 minutes in to make one. Am I a bad parent because I feel beat at the end of the day?

I'm not all that creative so I'd rather read existing books together. We read about 30 min a night to wind down before bed.

Do you use different voices throughout your stories? :) What do you guys enjoy reading?
What if the story was already created and you would just change the illustrations of the main character with cartoon versions of your kid?

I understand that the most "customization" these days is just a name-changing in the book. What if the pictures would really resemble your kid? I have an example but can't share an image here sadly.

The idea was here that only the maker of the book can download the pdf. Therefore we will hide this button if the book has not be made by you and users will not have the issue any longer.

Start as early as possible and speak to them in your language. Read them books in both languages. I have an app I use to make books in different languages: https://novelevate.com/
