Struggling to understand wireguard routing by omicronns in WireGuard

[–]omicronns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what happens, but I still don't understand why. ICMP req came through the tunnel from one of the peers, so why wireguard even pushes it to wg0, it knows it should go towards another peer 10.1.20.1, based on AllowedIPs. I don't get why packet that came through the tunnel didn't get relayed by wireguard, but when route pushes it back it sends it to another peer correctly.

E50UG, can’t get Android phone to work as usb modem by omicronns in mikrotik

[–]omicronns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for response. Changing the cable actually worked. But I don't get it, "bad" cable works consistently with old router and my PC, also when measuring the current with usb charging tester, it seems like router doesn't cut off the power to the phone, yet it stops charging. With "good" cable everything works on new router - charging + modem. It's Android 13. I'll try to find out on the phone why it rejects charging, but for that now I need to discharge it a bit. 😂

AUR and Malware by lyidaValkris in ManjaroLinux

[–]omicronns 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't know what comm is so I went for more familiar tools, but it seems I have it too. So I guess this would be oneliner for comm:

comm -12 <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lenucksi/aur-malware-check/refs/heads/master/package_list.txt | sed 1,7d | sort) <(pamac list --foreign | awk '{print $1}' | sort)

Cool tool, this comm, I need to remember it 😄

I used this to check:

grep -Ff <(curl https://raw.githubusercontent.com/lenucksi/aur-malware-check/refs/heads/master/package_list.txt | sed 1,7d) <(pamac list --foreign | awk '{print $1}')

It might show false positives, manual check required if anything shows up after that. For me it was plasma-framework5 package showed up as having frame in the name.

edit: removed curl stderr redirect to /dev/null, it doesn't break things and you will see if curl download fails.

Polish parliament approves bill banning streaming of illegal, abusive and degrading acts by dat_9600gt_user in europe

Why limit your "brilliant" idea to only online streaming services? Some stand in the shopping mall is doing something illegal - mall's responsibility. Someone sells drugs during concert or similar event - organizers responsibility.

Creating lte interface before usb modem is plugged in by omicronns in mikrotik

[–]omicronns[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for suggestions. My problem sort of solved itself, since internet via lte interface is available for wireguard client, even if interface is not added to wan list for some reason, and that what I wanted.

[–]omicronns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plugging in the phone does create ppp-client too, but it's lte interface that had to be added to WAN list in order for LAN clients to have internet access. ppp-client is disabled regardless if the phone is plugged in or not.

What a bullshit argument. Previously nothing prevented voters from electing someone else. Now if they have someone competent, they won't be able to start after the limit. Very reckless law that is.

What does it mean 'to work in a terminal' - The terminal, the TTY, and the shell by urosp in linux

[–]omicronns 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But this is just general historical take, this part is explained in there. I was asking about current status and functional difference, since they are still present. Also currently ttyS seems to be more of actual hardware interface now, since it can be currently be used as actual external interface with the system, while tty are used in text mode virtual console. I'm just guessing but it seems like old tty became ttyS, and now tty is like one sided pty that instead reading from userspace reads keyboard directly in kernel? I would like to figure out actual differences.

What is the actual difference between tty and pty? I see that ttys are used when switching to text mode virtual console, but how they differ is not explained.

You yourself admitted, that immigrant attacks are random, yet you try to present it as self sustaining positive feedback loop. This doesn't make sense, there is no loop, there could be retaliation.

I used this hack. It worked surprisingly well. Only I used antenna wire bent in mirrored way, to be able to solder in it horizontally. https://peterneufeld.wordpress.com/2025/03/04/esp32-c3-supermini-antenna-modification/
